No, these cuts have been talked about for awhile. Retirees have been talking about how there might be an annual enrollment fee for 65+ retirees w/Medicare Part-B for awhile, BUT- THEY ARE PISSED! They served this country, they were promised healthcare, now we are changing the rules of the game. This cannot happen.

Well this is understandable. They cannot afford it anymore. They need to buy more bullets and bombs as they are infinitely more important to waging war than, as Obama sees them, the human fodder.

Do you guys know what a soldier makes when they enlist right out of high school? $8 an hour, MAYBE $9 an hour. They CANNOT afford these increases. Retirees are asking that the fees be increased at a rate that reflects the current cost of living adjustment. A 300% increase over 5 years is NOT right.

Edit- Just wanted to include a little more information on Tricare. Tricare is available to Active Duty military and Retirees. Retirees are uniformed service members who have served 20+ years.

Beneficiaries are eligible for the Prime benefit when the sponsor is deployed as part of a contingency operation, then they are eligible for 6 months while on TAMP. Retirees are also eligible for the prime benefit, so long as they are listed as eligible with DEERS.
