DRUDGE: NEWT'S EX UNLOADS -- NETWORK DEBATES ETHICS OF RELEASE.

In that case it would be unethical to NOT release it. I have to assume it is just personal stuff for them to be conflicted, but maybe I am ascribing too high of a motive....
Perhaps it's personal stuff that could be career-ending. The possibility of abortion was brought up. Anything that's potentially worse than cheating on your cancer-ridden wife could be pretty explosive.

Also, you're making the assumption that the media actually has any sense of ethics. ABC will do whatever is in the best interest of ABC.

Newt and Slick Willy also smoked cigars and drank whiskey in the White House, swapping stories of their affairs.

Gingrich has no staying power after South Carolina. He isn't even on the ballot in his home state.

ABC thinks it's unethical to unload this new information before SC? BS. They did that with paul and his newsletters// Gingritch is a disgrace to all Americans, and unelectable . What a disgusting man. I always knew how he treated his wife.

Yes. So not a matter of ethics.

As much as we may grimace at the thought of it, if Paul can't win SC, it really would be preferable for Newt to squeak out a win over Romney, than for Mitt to win it. It would break the narrative that Mitt has the race wrapped up, and the mythos that the winner of SC is unstoppable. We do need for Newt to then be knocked out of the race by his ex's revelations, and for Paul to get about 23% or more to match his other early primary performances. So, we will have by that point a thinned out field, the frontrunner humbled, and a clear path for Paul to win the upcoming caucuses.

I bet another network would offer her some cash for a nice sit down before the primary to scoop ABC.

Off course she would... why ruin his run now? Although not bad for us if he wins and then this is released and is as explosive as advertised...

Howard Kurz is tweeting that his sources say there is nothing new in the Gingrich interview that Marianne hasn't said before, but that it is explosive because it becomes a TV story and just before the primary.
