DP: The Pieces Are Falling Into Place And I Am Getting Chills ...

I'm an 07er. I don't post very much but I've regularly read this forum for years.

I'm also pretty pissed at the campaign. I'm not really sure what to think about it,...why they decided to throw in the towel. But this movement needs to go on either with or without the blessings of the campaign.

But they didn't throw in the towel.

Did someone mention delusional thinking?....subjective.

I personally don't have it in me to give up or give in on most things. Been that way my entire life.

About the above one, I would think yes. Time to educate Michele Bachmann. The Minnesota delegates and alternates should develop and communicate Michele Bachmann strategies. I hear that Michele Bachmann is religious, went to Oral Roberts Law School. Is there any part of the Bible that could be seen to contradict the basic neocon foreign policy tenet, which seems to now be "ask Netanyahu"? Perhaps Bachmann could be reminded of these parts of the Bible in Tampa?

He could think "it would be good for the Maine delegates and alternates to hang out with Paul and Ann LePage for a week. Networking, that sort of thing.

He could think "it's possible that LePage and Bachmann could vote for Ron Paul. Wouldn't that be neat."

Neither LePage or Bachmann strike me as "elite". They aren't natural Romney supporters.

The Bible itself, particularly the New Testament, is pretty strictly apolitical. Unlike most surviving faiths (the Buddha was a Prince, Hinduism was formed as a state theology, Muhammad achieved power well within his lifetime, etc) its theology was formed during a time when the Christians had no state power and were actively persecuted. The religion is supposed to be a personal relationship, rather than a governmental theology.

So even if you are secular it makes sense why Christianity has little political resonance and no theology of control, making it particularly suited to libertarianism. That being said, aside from commands to 'turn the other cheek' it is unlikely that there is anything that could actively be used to argue against most of Bachmann's beliefs.

I'm talking about US Foreign Policy. I don't particularly understand how what you have to say relates to US Foreign Policy.

I'm kind of curious... why are you still posting here if you think Ron Paul has no chance?

I am an American, born and raised, living in America. You?

Do you want his supporters to shift to support other libertarian politicians? Or try and start a third party run? Or to throw people's support to Gary Johnston?

I DID want a third-party run. I argued for it BEFORE Ron Paul announced, then again WHEN IT BECAME CLEAR THAT THE "STEALTH" STRATEGY IS WILDLY UNLIKELY TO PRODUCE THE STATED GOAL i.e. securing the Republican nomination.

The third-party ship has SAILED . . . for Ron Paul. So, no, I am NOT advocating that. Opportunity Cost. GONE, that backup plan.

While I do STRONGLY believe that #GaryJohnson would be MUCH better for America (both "sides") than either #Obama or #Romeny, no, I am not trying to get Ron Paul Supporters to shift support to Gary Johnson. I AM encouraging Ron Paul Die Hards to PICK A FUCKIN' POISON, for demonstrating their numbers/power. STAYING HOME &/or WRITING-IN RON PAUL will not register with anyone, as anything.

The notorious "They" WANT y'all to stay home or write-in...it is so very PASSIVE AND INNOCUOUS. So very...manageable.

Consider how many times The Moovement has been fooled...

I have another concern, as well, which replicates a concern I expressed to the OTHER "side" in the LAST election, when youthful Obamamaniacs FELL FOR rhetoric on which the Orator could not POSSIBLY deliver. It is DANGEROUS to whip up a critical mass of Young 'Uns for a big letdown. The BEST-CASE scenario is that they turn quickly and intensely cynical. The worst-case scenario is CIVIL UNREST. Look at clips coming outta Chicago to verify that "we" are tacking toward the latter.

I'm just asking because I'm pretty sure most people here now know your views on Paul's chances of taking the nomination, so repeating it again doesn't make much sense.

I think you've got OTHER reason for asking, but no matter.

People have heard me call for JUSTICE & PEACE, too. They have heard me call for END OF CENSORSHIP. They have heard me call for ETHICS IN OFFICE.

"We" make no progress on those fronts but, yeah, I'll keep right on with the FREE SPEECH thing. It is my CIVIC DUTY.

Also my MORAL IMPERATIVE.

There isn't all that much in there either. Even going to war was bad for Christians until St. Augustine's doctrine of 'Just War', and Holy War as we know it today did not occur until the Wendish Crusade in the 12th century (the First Crusade does not, ironically, fit under the historians' classical definition of Holy War, as it involved no forced conversions).

And I'm not even sure how to respond to the poster above. He seems angry, and that apparently is the reason he's posting (as he admits himself that he is trying to get supporters to 'pick a poison', which isn't in any way constructive).

Definitely exciting times! I am reserving elation for just a little bit later though.
