The point of the 5th amendment is for you don't testify as a witness for one crime, which while testifying could incriminate your for another crime that you personally committed some other time.

Call any lawyer, judge, police officer, anyone that is a professional of law, and they will tell you the same.

So how can a person who committed the crime, also be a witness, brainiac? It's obvious it does mean for another crime. It doesn't matter how you interpret the constitution, and we can all interpret it differently. What does matter is how the courts and judges interpret it.

And since 1776, they haven't once interpreted it the way you are saying. So nice try.

If a person committed a crime, I'm pretty sure they witnessed it. At these things called trials, they can be questioned on the stand. They could be cross examined.

"Did you commit the crime?" They don't have to answer. Same works for questioning by any officer of the court because you might as well be in court when talking to one of them.

You or the person teaching you what the constitution says can interpret the constitution in any manner. Does not make it the correct interpretation. The people tell the courts and judges how to run the country, not they other way around. If they interpret something incorrectly, the people should let them know promptly.
