Donald Trump: U.S. should purchase/annex Greenland from Denmark

Leftists say Trump never said anything about wanting Greenland on the campaign trail but seem to have forgotten Trump said during his first term he wanted to acquire it.

...but says attack on Canada ‘highly unlikely’

President Donald Trump isn’t closing the door on using force to attempt to annex Greenland and Canada. But he said the prospect of attacking Ottawa appears “highly unlikely.”

Greenland on the other hand?

“I don’t rule it out,” Trump told host Kristen Welker in an interview that aired Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I don’t say I’m going to do it, but I don’t rule out anything. No, not there. We need Greenland very badly. Greenland is a very small amount of people, which we’ll take care of, and we’ll cherish them, and all of that. But we need that for international security.”

Since his November election, the president has made no secret of his desire to acquire Greenland. “We need it. We have to have it,” he told a radio host in March. That same month, White House officials led by Vice President JD Vance visited a U.S. Space Force base on the island, which boasts significant mineral reserves and a strategic spot in the Arctic.

It’s been a similar story with Canada. The president has often mused about turning the country into a 51st state. Trump’s fixation was “a real thing,” warned former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

“I don’t see it with Canada. I just don’t see it, I have to be honest with you,” Trump said of attacking the country in the NBC interview.

But the patriotic fervor Trump’s repeated attacks unleashed in the True North helped propel former banker Mark Carney and the previously beleaguered Liberals back into government for the fourth consecutive term — the first three were with Trudeau at the helm. Conservative candidate Pierre Poilievre not only saw his party lose a double-digit lead, he even lost his own seat in last week’s elections.

“These are not idle threats,” Carney of said Trump after his election victory last week. “President Trump is trying to break us so that America can own us. That will never, that will never, ever happen. But we also must recognize the reality that our world has fundamentally changed.”

“And, if you look at our map, if you look at the geography — I’m a real estate guy at heart. When I look down at that without that artificial line that was drawn with a ruler many years ago,” Trump said. “Was just an artificial line, goes straight across. You don’t even realize. What a beautiful country it would be. It would be great.”

Between this, and what's happening in Israel, and Ukraine, it sure looks like we're head toward "Regional Governance", per Klaus Scwhab/WEF stated goal. And the Tech required to do it is being rolled out. Including what the revamped IRS is doing.

Good . Let’s do it. Might as well add Mexico too. Treat it like a giant, real- life game of Risk. Holding North America gives us 5 extra armies every turn. We’ll control the whole world before we know it.

Yippee.

Hey, leave Mexico out of it. Every time I go there they welcome me with open arms and tell me to hurry up and come back, on the condition that I leave all the rest of the Amerikans behind 👍

Greenland Signs Lucrative Minerals Deal with Europe in Blow to Trump
Greenland has allowed a Danish-French consortium to mine a rock which is key to the production of aluminum.

The permit granted to Greenland Anorthosite Mining (GAM) to extract anorthosite follows interest in the Arctic territory from U.S. President Donald Trump in acquiring the autonomous island which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

GAM, which is backed by French company Jean Boulle Group and real estate investment firms bodies from Denmark and Greenland, was granted a 30-year permit, Reuters reported.

Jesper Willaing Zeuthen, associate professor at Aalborg University, in Denmark, told Newsweek Trump's interest in Greenland's resources is likely to be more in securing long-term investment objects which is difficult under current Greenlandic legislation.

Greenland has sparked international attention since President Trump expressed his interest in acquiring the Arctic island rich in minerals, oil and natural gas.

Greenland's Mineral Resources Minister Naaja Nathanielsen said that U.S. interest in the island has not resulted in any investment and the deal signals that business dialog with European partners was progressing more quickly.

it was also announced yesterday that the Trump Adm is placing Greenland under NORTHCOM rather than EUCOM.

this basically means the US does not recognize Danish, or even independent Greenlander control of Greenland.

Anti-MAGA Hat in Greenland Goes Viral: 'Make America Go Away'
An anti-MAGA Hat made by a Greenlandic creator that reads: "Make America Go Away" has gone viral as Usha Vance's visit to the island approaches.

Aannguaq Reimer-Johansen, the creator of the anti-MAGA hats, has said he believes her visit is a "charm offensive," and that he wants people in Greenland to show that they do not want the U.S. to take over their nation.

I'm still waiting for US recognition of independent TheTexan control of TheTexan.

I might be waiting a long time

French President Emmanuel Macron touched down in Greenland on Sunday, for an official visit designed to bolster European support for the Danish territory, which is still batting away advances from the Trump administration to acquire it for the United States.

Macron is the first foreign leader to visit the resource-rich island since US President Donald Trump began his campaign to buy or annex Greenland, which he insists the US needs for national security purposes.

Asked about Trump’s ambitions as he arrived in Greenland, Macron is cited by Reuters as saying: “I don’t think that’s what allies do… it’s important that Denmark and the Europeans commit themselves to this territory, which has very high strategic stakes and whose territorial integrity must be respected.”

According to a statement from the White House, US President Donald Trump decided to leave the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada, early and return to Washington due to the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East. But people familiar with the discussions say that his decision to leave was partly due to irritation with French President Emmanuel Macron, who visited Greenland and opposed Trump's plans to take control of the island, as well as the US President's lack of interest in meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy
