Does Ron want us to leave the GOP?

On one hand he warns against the coming fascism in America (in the vessels of the Republicans and Democrats) and on the other implies that we should stay in that same corrupt fascist party. I love Ron but he is dead wrong on the two party system in this country. It needs to be destroyed just like the Fed.

I don't believe the former Libertarian Party candidate is all that fond of the two party system. Especially after seeing him introduce the nation to four 'third party' candidates four years ago. I believe he merely considered the GOP to be a superior vehicle, and it undoubtedly was at the time he made that decision. And has been through this cycle, too--how many fans did he make during the debates?

I think off the record he'd want us to engage in peaceful civil disobedience and not go along to get along. I dunno... just judging by the anarchist types he's around and references when he talks about his influences with books and historical figures and stuff. After he's officially retired i'd like to see him come out on tv interviews and stuff pushing the ideas of voluntaryism on a wide national stage and getting that message across. So then the hopes of the mises people might have a chance to get on bigger news channels to spread the ideas as well (walter block, Tom Woods, Stefan Molyneux, Lew Rockwell, and others). Just my 2 cents.

He wants us to stay. He tried the third party route and abandoned it. He realized that the LP is a massive flop made up mostly of losers - and the few who actually are good men just get sucked down by the weight of all the LP deadbeats they have to carry on their back.

Ron Paul has accomplished more within the GOP in five years than the LP has accomplished in four decades of existence.

This movement has invested five years of work into the GOP, some have been working even longer than that. Since 2008 we have increased Ron's delegate count by nearly 5x. Do that again in 2016 with an additional bump of having a more liked candidate in Rand Paul and we can have a liberty candidate win the nomination in 2016.

We have 5x the army that we started with, if we all stay involved and work at it, we can accomplish what we worked so hard for (with Matt's incredible help) here in Minnesota on a national scale. Its doable but we all most stay involved and work. If we leave, drones will just replace us and the GOP will continue to exist as their policies become worse and worse.

Let's work to bring back those who left for the Libertarian, Constitution, and other third parties. Instead of further fracturing our movement we worked so hard to build, lets change the RNC leadership. Win over your local and state parties, win the National Committee man and woman seats. Let's replace Priebus in 2013, change the rules in 2014, and win in 2016. We've worked so hard lets not give up yet. Step up from your computers and work with good local liberty candidates in the meantime, step up if you don't see other liberty loving Americans doing so. Lets take back our cities, our counties, our states, and finally our nation.

Ummmm....Stay in the GOP?

I still think he should go INDIE, for America's sake.

^^THIS^^ I was cool to the idea for a long time but after this rules change BS I say Ron Paul should go Independent. But is it to late?
p.s. To hell with the GOP

Didn't Dr. Paul ask us to stay in the GOP, during the Rally? Because that is what I remember.

Does Ron Paul want us to leave the GOP, or stick around and hold our ground in an attempt to win more rank-and-file Republicans over to our side?

Judging from his history, what do YOU think he would want us to do?

Well, Matt, I'm afraid a goodly portion of us no longer give a fuck about the Republican party; further, I'd venture to guess that there will be more than one other person down at the courthouse tomorrow when I go down there to tear up my voter registration card that indicates I am a registered Republican.

So, no. I don't care what Ron Paul thinks, and tonight, I doubt he'd care too much about whether or not his supporters remain registered Republicans and support Robamney.

Can I get a witness?

If you're in a deep-blue state such as Connecticut, California, Illinois, New York, etc. then working within the GOP won't get you very far. Work within the Democratic Party there. In deep-red states, the opposite is true.

California will be vital in future primaries; Illinois has a (R) Senator recently elected in 2010, so either party can win.

True

...He realized that the LP is a massive flop made up mostly of losers - and the few who actually are good men just get sucked down by the weight of all the LP deadbeats they have to carry on their back.

False and rude too.
Do you expect people to take you seriously, or are you.... ?

I'm totally serious. Have you actually ever ventured into the Libertarian Party?

Perhaps it's different in your state, but in Michigan the Libertarian Party is a joke.

I disagree. In fact, "deep-blue" states might actually provide *better* opportunities for GOP insurgency, simply as a result of the fact that there are fewer Republicans - and thus, less competition for positions on GOP precinct committees, state party positions, etc.

Chances for *general electoral* success in "deep-blue" states may indeed be slim, but *within* the GOP, the state parties, convention delegations & national committee positions from "deep-blue" states count *every bit* as much as those from "deep-red" states. And as the "deep-blue" states that you mention (such as New York & California) also tend to be more populous, they would also yield greater returns in terms of delegation sizes.
