Do you think Russia is in the right, or wrong?

Is Russia's current military actions against Georgia justified?

I was speaking specifically about biological weaponry Saddam used actually, referring to the Kurds, received from America.
The report I read pointed toward German companies. The truth on that will probably be never known.

I know you do and I did read your posts, I was just griping along as well. But thank you anyways

I guess I should have pointed that out.... I am on my first cup of coffee, not trying to talk against your comment but speak my opinion on that one point you were making. Wasn't meant to talk shit on YOU at all even if you think it came out that way. Sorry bout that BUT I know which side you are on and we are on the same damn one.

Another cup of coffee and I will be all good lol...

I hear you. Emotions get high when we feel we are getting dragged into a war that doesn't concern us.

Well, I think what Russia is doing is immoral. And yes I do believe what we have done the last 50 years is also immoral. But is Russia justified? Maybe, it's easy to justify actions like this at the beginning, but then as time goes on people realize the cost, how many people died, how many civilians died, how a society was destroyed, how the war changed the paradigm of both nations. People see how it takes decades to recover, unless they want to fast track recovery, in which case they'll start another war to get the economic engine going, and you wind up like us. Shit like this is never good. Not ever.

The only reason Russia is justified in involving itself is because the Ossetians are Russian citizens. Their peacekeepers were murdered by fellow peacekeepers and civilians keep getting shelled. If they invade Georgia to stop them from shelling Ossetia I support that too.

Depressing that a third of voters in this poll only read MSM...

lol

I don't view much MSM at all, just alternative sources on the internet and some news media from other countries.

I voted unjustified in the poll, both options are wrong, however voting that they are "completely justified" is just more silly to me as it implicates a lot of things. How many innocent Georgians have died, will Russia seek to occupy Georgia like the US is occupying Iraq, etc. To some people wars are never fully justified. I might sympathize with Russia responding to Georgia's attack on Ossetians, but if Russia continues to occupy Georgia then it might be a disproportionate reaction. Russia very well could seek to exploit the incident, just the same as the US and western allies used Georgia.

Americans drink the media koolaid and have no clue to what is the truth or knowing any kind of history.

Georgians have been ethnically cleansing themselves of Ossetians since the 1920's. This is round 3 if Im not mistaken. If you listen to what Saakashvili said when he became President of Georgia his main platform was recovering Ossetia and Abkhazia. Unfortunately for him his Nationalist wet dream failed. These people never wanted to be part of Georgia and they are ethnically different. Its not a matter of these people dont want to associate with non Ossetians, its that the Georgians have a history of murdering them.

Since this is a Ron Paul Forum I'm really surprised that "It's none of our business" or "We should stay out of this" isn't an option. That is where I place my vote.
