Do you think Russia is in the right, or wrong?

Is Russia's current military actions against Georgia justified?

There's two sides to everything.

Everything must be simplified.

Ten second soundbytes

and

Two sides.

It is America's doom to be simplified into one state.

This is a good example. And to take it a little further, lets say Canada started stationing troops in Seattle while being fully aware of the conflict brewing between Seattle and the US gov't. Then our highly irrational government decides to crush all dissent and attacks Seattle.

Does that give Canada justification to invade the entire state of Washington? Or was Canada wrong for getting involved in the first place?

Why omit the part where Seattle has broken away from Washington and declared there independence? As an independent state, they want Canadian troops to stick around.

So now we went and killed a bunch of Canadian troops in Seattle. Why should Canada be satisfied with simply taking Seattle back? If your neighbor destroys your house and sets up a bunch of tents do you just clean up the tent city, or are you going to then go and destroy your neighbors house too?

Do you think that the Russian's might have wanted their "bay of tonkin incident" by stationing troops in a highly contentious area?

In that scenario , People in Seattle are free to leave---if half want to leave or take over they are in the wrong and if it gets physical they are still wrong...if the government gets physical they are wrong...but if riots break out the gov. fed or state has a right to quell violence. the breakaway city's in Georgia are still in Georgia.

sorry ,,meant to say ,,they are wrong in trying to take over...not wrong in wanting to leave.

Yes.

I think Russia was hoping for this. They know the West isn't going to rush to come to the aid of Georgia, what with us needing them to help put the clamps on Iran. So Russia can once again show their people that they are a world power.

From what I can see however, this is far more serious of an incident then the staged bay of tonkin incident.

The majority in Seattle did leave. They broke off from Washington and declared independence.

another example would be, Orlando Florida not wanting to be part of Florida anymore...

its justified. as far as I am concerned, any foreign country can do whatever the hell it wants for whatever reason it wants to do and we are in no place to tell them otherwise.

and what about an option for "Immoral but justified"

EDIT: OMFG A BARACK OBAMA AD AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE!! OMFG!!!

It is that kind of attitude that leaves many confused about Libertarians.

Don't you think you are taking things a bit far!

Being a responsible citizen, civil in nature, with respect for your neighbors, is essential if a true Libertarian society is to be achieved.

It is not an excuse to be an ass-hole.

I don't know enough about it to judge whether Russia is right or wrong in their actions.

What I do know is that since Georgia borders Russia, Russia has a lot more right to be involved in Georgia than the US has to give Georgia weapons and train their military.

It's the equivalent of Russia giving arms to Mexico and training their military. What would the US do? I think the answer to that is pretty obvious.

ah - so libertarians now must fight for some global utopia. You initiate force and here we come to save the day.

We are going to invade Canada and Mexico because their tax policy is an initiation of force. The entire middle east needs to be at war with us because of countless violations of inalienable rights.

I'm not sure how we will fund these operations in a libertarian society, but that is immaterial. We can't go being ass-holes or anything

oops - forgot about Australia and the draconian gun/drug laws down under. We declare war on Australia too!

Whether this confrontation is right or wrong, I have little or no knowledge of the circumstances. There-fore am unable to judge.

The one thing that strikes me, is George Bush lacks a minutia of credibility or authority, when commenting on the actions of others.

You completely mis-interpret me.

If you could remove the cloak of righteous super-power for a moment, and attempt to be a non-obtrusive corporate citizen, following Ron Paul's lead, you might be in a happier place. The place I grew up in, and remember fondly.

During the meantime...
Could you please stop threatening everyone else?

Peace.
