AZ - Schweikert is pretty good. He is excellent on issues like the real id, NAU, and gun control laws. He is weak on the war. He feels that since we messed up by going in, we need to finish the job. He does believe it was done the wrong way and unconstitutional. I know this because I had him in my house with 12 other Ron Paul supporters. We grilled him for 2 hours, and he was great on everything but the war. He is very fiscally conservative and will work to shrink government. Here is his website:

Powell Gammil is a tried and true Ron Paul supporter and Libertarian. I don't see him winning, as the campaign lacks any effort. He is a great guy though.

PA U.S. House 3 Kathy Dahlkemper (Running) Democratic
PA U.S. House 3 Philip English (Running) Republican

For PA's 3rd district, it's a tough call. We need change badly, and Kathy supports a withdrawal from Iraq and getting rid of "No Child Left Behind," but she's also a typical Democrat that may be unfriendly to some controversial businesses attempting to set up shop here, such as the "tires to energy" plant. It's a good alternative energy idea, but this is a mostly Democratic area (2/3) and the environmentalists are going overboard and not listening to reason on this particular business, and those environmentalists are part of her base. That said, she's a big proponent of alternate energy, so it's a roll of the dice there.

BUT Phil English rode Tom Ridge's coattails and, in my opinion, is an insufferable snob (despite the fact that he looks like someone who just learned what shoes are for last week) and is rising in the ranks--he certainly comes off as a neocon and aspires to be the next Rick Santorum--who we finally got rid of relatively recently. English was almost voted out in the last election by an unknown, and I think Dahlkemper has a really good chance of taking him out given both my experience at the polls and the political climate in regards to Republicans.

kludge thats an EXCELLENT IDEA... maybe someone from each state could volunteer to research the candidates in their state, then email us their findings...

fantastic... so if you really are serious please let me know what you find out either on here or by emailing [email protected]

thanks!

Good idea!

DUDE! Where's New York?

David Gay - Libertarian, Constitution

Steven Vasquez - Republican, Libertarian

John Wallace - Republican

I didn't see Washington State on your list (maybe I missed it)

you didn't miss it, Candidate filing deadlines have not yet passed in this state and thus far can only find a list of current seat holders...

if anyone does have a list for WA please post it here.

Step #1, Roxic, remove ALL the Greenies from the list.

Straw Poll...Eh?

And thanks everyone, this is really great info!

my list is looking a little insane, originally had thought just delete the neocons off the list, but i kind of like having a huge list of "keeping tabs" on our candidates for congress, especially after the election :)

I know Michael Benoit personally

I'm the assistant campaign manager for MIke Benoit the Libertarian candidate running in San Diego's 52nd district. He's a Ron Paul Libertarian and is a true Limited Government candidate. Have a look at his website at www.benoit08.com

Mike was and still is the organizer of the San Diego Ron Paul meetup group and I've spent many a day on the street corner with Mike holding RP signs and doing sign making bombs in his yard. He is a true patriot.

Hope this helps give you abetter idea about MIke Benoit,

thanks Regan Ashby.

NV U.S. House 3 Carl Bunce (Running) Republican

I've had a couple of encounters with Carl Bunce in the BTM chatroom. I also heard an interview with him on Wake Up America. hes obviously a passionate fellow, but he seemed to me a bit on the green side. Like hes not got much political experience. in this day in age i can't imagine that would be a bad thing.

MD U.S. House 5 Collins Bailey (Running) Republican

thats another guy thats kickin ass and takin names in our movement.

Roxic,

Yes, I am also a Liberty Candidate and member of this forum. As David Gay mentioned, I am running in NY 21st District in an open seat (incumbent retiring) and I am also endorsed by Ron Paul.

what im doing is making up a word document with a list of all candidates, if they are a Liberty candidate they go in bold red, and im adding the comments you guys give to all of them, plus ill add my own research, when its finished, ill make it available for everyone if its not on the LSP site

thanks for doing this guys! it would take me months to try to get all this info on my own :)

i still have a big list uncovered, i imagine when people get back this weekend they will have more info for me though.

I'm the Libertarian candidate for Congress in CA14 (Silicon Valley), and Secretary of the 2008 LP Platform Committee -- which just created a Ron-Paul-compatible moderate Platform. My question is: when would a Libertarian candidate NOT be considered a "Liberty Candidate"?

Don't for my guy - BJ Lawson. NC CD4. I think BJ Lawson is an amazing candidate. He's running in a very liberal part of NC, the part that could get Obama the state. Last two elections went 60+% for David Price, who's running this year again. But BJ's environmental and sustainability standpoints can give him a big boost among the pro-sustainability people here.

The more I read from him, the better a candidate he seems. If he were old enough, I would likely be voting for him for President as well. Oh well

I'm formerly from NC CD3 as well where they have a good candidate in Walter Jones. Both are endorsed by Paul. CD3 gave Bush his greatest margin of victory over Kerry in NC by district. However, he's run into some problems with conservatives because of his anti-war stance now as well as impeachment stance.
