Do you hunt?

Of those of you who own firearms, how many of you hunt?

I'm curious to see what percentage of hunters we have here.

For those who do, what animals do you hunt?

If you don't hunt, why not?

I own a handgun, a shotgun, and numerous rifles, but I do not hunt. I practice lots so that, should I desire/ need to hunt I'll be capable of doing so.

I used to hunt squirrels with my dad when I was little. But that was twenty years ago. My entire family (the guys) as well as my in-laws deer hunt and I keep thinking I should go with them, but just have not done so yet.

It's not moral or ethical scruples, just that I don't like being outside in winter.

I want to go hunting. My older brothers have always wanted to take me but I live too far away from them. and only visited them for long enough to go when I was younger out of season.

I have hunted, grew up hunting deer and turkey. I have not in recent years, although I met go with the inlaws this year. The most fun I ever had hunting was deer hunting with a quadripalegic during muzzleloader season. We got a nice buck too.

I hunt deer, squirrels, and doves when I get the chance, which is only a few times a year with my job I have now.

My family has an ancient pecan tree that the crows like to hang around and my .22 is fun to try out on them.

I have some good memories growing up hunting with my uncles and cousins every Thanksgiving. Makes for some great stories at family gatherings!

Local critters. Rabbits, chickens (if you don't think you hunt chicken, you've never tried to catch a free-range one in the Caribbean), 'coons, deer, and whatever happens to be moving (but not flying; I don't hunt the eagles or hawks around the area). I don't precisely do it often, and I don't precisely care that I don't have a license to do so Not all hunting is done with guns. Though I included animals that can be/are snared, there are those which can be shot with a bow.

I have used homemade wooden box traps to catch rabbits before. And occasionally I've caught an opossum.

My parents have a beaver problem again and I'd like to trap them if I can find the time.

I don't hunt. It just never interested me as a sport and I have not needed to for food. But nothing could be more natural for a human being to do. So no reason not to.

If I had to hunt for food, I'd be okay with that. But, largely due to my hippie/Native-American upbringing, killing for sport, or when other, already slaughtered animals are available to eat has always been a bit of a taboo in my family.

I do not hunt. I never have been hunting before. And really while I enjoy plinking, don't really care to learn to hunt. Just not interested in it.

Love to hunt. Don't love to drag deer through 3ft of snow (literally) up a steep hill.

For a while back in the early 90s I had place right on the water on the eastern flyway along the NJ coast.

Boats and guns, awesome combination.

Loved some waterfowl hunting.

Haven't had the time lately, though I shot a couple fat rabbits in my garden last year.

They weren't bad.

Due to time resraints I have not hunted as much in the past 8 or 9 years. I do enjoy it . Over the years I have hunted Wood Ducks , Woodcock , doves , quail , rabbits , squirrels , grouse , pheasant for the most part in my home state. Would love to go dove hunting here in a week and duck hunting end of Oct. this year , but will probably miss it. Should be able to maybe make it next year.
