DIGG Fox Stock Hitting 52 Week Low

357,000 hits on google

Surely there is no relation to the entire market nose diving right now, right?

We are definitely NOT the first people to advocate a FOX boycott. 357,000 hits for Fox+news+boycott - some going back three or more years ago. It's true there's no way to really quantify our impact. But I'm still REALLY happy with what's happening. It can't hurt to spread the word... Boycott FOX and all Newscorp holdings. Boycott advertisers.

For GOOD!

Note: let's attempt to combine all the various FOX boycott efforts if possible?

Definite downtrend .... accelerating .....

Surely there is no relation to the entire market nose diving right now, right?

Thing is NWS has dropped around 50% more than the Dow on average the past three days, plus we should play this as most people won't understand the markets are down, and my point is NWS is down worse than the markets.

Yahoo Finance message boards have a lot of influence, NWS has been slammed the past few days, and new buyers get scared off. It won't affect the institutional stuff, but 70% of indivudal investors who don't rely on a full service broker check the Yahoo finance board of any stock they are thinking of investing in first. If I'm thinking of buying NWS and I see that board with the stock going down - I'm moving on to some other stock.

Pleas DIGG and let's milk this this weekend. The stock will probably go up Monday on profit taking with several days of the stock dropping, but if it drops again on Monday, then people are definitely turned off to NWS - for whatever reason.

You can tell that it was us by the fact that the volume of trades jumped massively at the start of the boycott.

Remember, we can play the medias game here too. We don't need to nessecarily have been responsible for the 52 wk low, but we sure can take credit for it all over the net!

Boycott Fox by not watching their programming. "Boycotting" by selling their stock is a misnomer.. when you sell for any reason other than a need to reallocate your capital, and without any economic reason, you're just making Fox's earnings less expensive for other investors. A Fox owner who sold 1 million shares last month will see people "boycotting" the stock, and buy the same 1 million shares back this week for a considerable discount. He owns the same percentage of the company, the company has the same profitability, and he'll have made off with a tidy profit.

It's like "socially responsible mutual funds" as a means of social change. Because all these profits of socially irresponsible companies are still for sale on the market (just with a reduced price), it becomes advantageous to buy these companies. Hence the invention of the "socially IRresponsible mutual fund":

That's true in one sense, but if investors believe that their share prices are going down for a reason it absolutely could lead to policy change...admittedly way to late for this debate. Shareholders by and large don't want to lose value.

Fact is, it is embarassing as Hell for an egomaniac like Murdoch to see his stock go down when we are bashing, the first page of this thread has a chart of Fox dropping faster than the S&P 500 since we started, your average everyday investor will not buy if they read the Yahoo finance board and we have educated a lot of current Fox holders on the Yahoo board as to how corrupt Fox is.

I expect there will be a rally, but I'm hoping we will pressure Fox to include Dr Paul, and the rally takes place as soon as it is announced that Ron Paul WILL participate in the forum.

Perception is everything. ;)
