Did you know? David Koch was a Libertarian Vice-Presidential candidate in 1980

A badly kept sceret is that there is no shortage of pro foreign violent interventions, ethnic cleansings, occupations neocons who can be very libertarian minded on some issues like gay marriage in military, porn, abortion etc and talk of small government while advocating big government spending for their violent interventions agenda.

Not confirmed if suspected neocons Kochies are hardcore war lobby pimps but they did fund notorios pro ethnic cleansing founder of Freedomworks.

Oh look. Real Research:

David Koch on the Iraq War:

He opposed the Iraq war, saying that the war has "cost a lot of money, and it's taken so many American lives". "I question whether that was the right thing to do. In hindsight that looks like it was not a good policy." he told an interviewer.

When did he oppose Iraq war first? By Apr 4, 2011, everybody and theit mother was calling Iraq war a mistake. What did he say/do if anything in 2002-03 when neocon lobbies were plotting war propaganda? Even Obama spoke against Iraq war in 2003, back then some neocons like Obama wanted Iran to be attacked instead of Iraq.

That said, Kochies seem better than most hardcore neocons but their funding of neocon wing of tea party clearly states what their wars agenda is. They funded people who have publicly advocated ethnic cleansing and never apologized for it.

The Cato Institute, which was started with Koch money, stood almost alone in Washington against the first Iraq war [.pdf], and staunchly opposed the more recent invasion – just as they oppose Obama’s wars in Afghanistan [.pdf] and beyond. Cato has also stood up for our civil liberties, opposing the PATRIOT Act, and the whole panoply of post-9/11 repressive measures initiated by the Bush administration and expanded by Obama. Right after 9/11, the Koch brothers gave the ACLU $20 million to fight off the Bushies’ assault on the Constitution (George Soros gave half as much).

Your move.

I did not know they had founded Cato, one of the few relatively sensible think tanks. Thanks for this, it will temper my view of them a bit.

But reason he cited for opposing Iraq war and associations with some neocon groups and receiving funding from people like Foster Friess still does not put them in clear imo. This is not very solid piece but still these seem like valid questions given their financial links.

I haven't seen the Koch brothers talk about Iran, but I highly doubt Cato would support an Iran War.

moderate libertarian,

You may want to stop reading leftist/progressive news sources if you care about the facts and the truth.

Can you recommend any good rightist/regressive or static news sources? :)

J/K. Seems like MSM is all corporate greed lobbies/neocon controlled.

RP hasn't (yet). Still has his lifetime membership last I heard.

I ran a student front for the LP and was a member of the party for awhile and I don't regret it. Running Bob Barr was a mistake, but I know there are many great people involved with the party and I generally support them

Once in a while a so-called "leftist" exposes the truth-usually out of partisan reasons (but the same can be said of "rightist" news sources). This phenomenon is why Rothbard was smart to attempt to form coalitions.
