Did you guys watch Revolution last night?

Possibly...I just know it got boring after a while but that would also be on the writers.

The change was during the time they took that huge break. I remember reading about it and when it started again, it wasn't at all the same. It could have been the lead writer. I'm not sure. But, I do remember it was the person they credited with the show.

The "event" was set up to be an EMP type thing, but for some reason internal combustion engines don't work anymore. That'd be fine if that were consistent, but then we see muzzle-loaders that work on the same fire/explosive/pressure reaction that engines work on.

Modern internal combustion engines require computers to run. And by modern I mean within the last 30 years. Most car from 1980 on, had some sort of ECM unit that if exposed to an EMP would not work unless you found a new ECM module that wasn't effected by the EMP. GUn powder will still work after an EMP. EMP's only effect electronics so guns will still work just not your red dot laser scope attached to it. Hell, fireworks will still work so party on.

I expect every show to play by its own rules.

If you are going to tell me it's been fifteen years, and the uncle has not met his niece, but she was around just after the initial event, as was her brother, and her dad was talking to her uncle on the phone... so why am I expected to believe he would be surprised at her existing?

If you are going to tell me it's been fifteen years, so that the main character is probably 17-19, then don't make her look like:

(Note: They have Pantene and curling irons in the future, obviously, not to mention lots of floss and toothpaste.)

I could get it if, in typical "ooooh it's mysterious" fashion, maybe people who were exposed to the event after a certain age aged slower or something, but apparently others aged at normal rates.

what, she looks like she's about 25!

I only have two thoughts on this. First, how does JJ Abrams have a job after the ending to Lost? Second, when does the Walking Dead start up?

Basically my thought as well...

I bailed on this show about half way through the first hour, I think that will be my total exposure to this turkey, and about the same as I made it in Lost.

Yesterday I contemplated cutting my cable TV bill by just getting rid of my TV. I'd catch up on the mounting stack of books here.

Lost was actually great for the first five seasons even though they kept stringing yu along with filler episodes. However season 6 was a big FU to whoever was watching as they clearly had no plan all along. They were just making up cute idea with no intension of making sense out of them.

Ditto on Falling Skies.

If you liked "Heroes," (which I thought should have ended with Season 1) you might like "Alphas."

Dr Who (of course!), Warehouse 13, Fringe - all though those last two could wind themselves down at anytime now.

Yeah, Heroes should have ended with season 1 (felt like a good stopping point), and Alphas is definitely what I wanted Heroes to be.

That was helpful.

Are you arguing that she looked ten? Or are you just snarking with zero purpose?

Am I being snarky? I just agreed with you! And yes, any discussion about a actor on a modern tv drama has pretty much zero purpose. I cannot believe I'm even talking about it.

Total FU frankly.

The whole time it feels like you're getting small hints and misdirections about some elaborate mystery, and then in season five with the time travel Abram and co were just straight raping minds over the possibilities. Then we get to the end to find it's just a bunch of magic and afterlife BS. Biggest letdown ever!

The first one that comes to my mind was Selma Blair from Cruel Intentions. Wikipedia says that was from 1999, making her 27 at the time (I dunno how old she was supposed to be in the movie, but approximately college freshman age so I'll say 18). Here's a picture from her in the movie and a current picture from Wikipedia. What the hell happened??? She was hot before:

Also, as long as I'm here, I heard about on Daily Paul a new show called Last Resort about a false flag that's already on Hulu but the broadcast debut is next Thursday. I watched it tonight and thought it was very good - could be the next 24: http://www.hulu.com/last-resort-2012

In my opinion we should give the FU back to JJ Abrams and not watch his work. I've seen a little big of some of his other work, and I can already tell he's going to do with it what he did with Lost.

What is up with this stuff on tv? I've also seen commercials for another show where the actor is like I love my country but I won't stand for a government that kills it's own people. I can't remember the name. I only watch the television when I'm eating meals.

It's no coincidence.

Hollywood is full in to propaganda.

Has everyone seen the Resident Evil slogan for the new movie?

"Think Global. Kill Local." Not kidding.
