Also it now appears that C4L letterheads include both Ron and Ran Paul, or at least the one we received last week did. So I am assuming they are both teaming up on that front at least.

Yeah. I'm not sure that is the way to go, if Rand is going to be trimming sails. C4L in order to be a conscience of Congress can't trim sails, I would think. I wonder what is going to happen on that front.

No, I am not registered Republican - Illinois does not have partisan registration.

I did, of course, vote Ron Paul in the 2008 and 2012 Republican Primaries - so perhaps state of Illinois voter lists is where this is coming from...????

I'm in Illinois also and I got a couple emails from Mitts campaign. Never even read them, just deleted. The only sites I gave that certain email to were Ron Paul's official campaign, Daily Paul, and here. I was wondering how Mitt's campaign got mine also since I never gave it to anyone. I also donated to moneybomb.

I know folks don't want to hear this, but the fact is, for me anyway, the spelling of my name and address is unique and could only have come from the RP campaign records.

Last I knew, you could search the internet and find out who donated money to each candidate. Perhaps they are also getting this info that way.

If you voted in the primary, then your name is public. The GOP probably figured that you're supporting Romney if you voted in the Republican primary.

All the emails I've gotten from Mitt and Ann have been through one of the organizations putting out polls earlier in the primary. If I remember right, the Paul campaign also used that avenue a couple of times. Won't know if Romney has sent anything till I get home in June, since y brother never forwards it to me. Not too good for my credit rating when bills come.
As far as C4L, I think Ron had to step back when he started running, and Rand may have stepped in. Now, unless Ron decides to run 3rd party, he'll probably resume his involvement in C4L. I hope so. When they switched over, they eliminated all the overseas stuff. I couldn't even donate since they wouldn't accept military ZIP codes.

I get mail from Mitt every other day and I just trash it. Maybe I am special NOT

I have received numerous letters from Romney campaign, which I promptly throw in the trash. I am registered Republican. But that's about to change.

I trash it too, UNLESS it has a prepaid envelope, then I send them a piece of my mind. I love the prepaid envelopes!

I suggest doing this, as long as there is a pre paid return envelope.

Just make sure you crop the scan matrix, bar codes and your name and address of course.

I always toss um unopened, but we are certainly going to get a lot more. The idea dawned on me that Meetups or other RP groups could get all the members to save them and create a bonfire with them. Either invite the press or make a YouTube!

It's illegal to pull the info from the FEC. Campaigns can and do seed the reports with fake donor names in order to catch campaigns that do that. It is legal to do that - the FEC gives instructions on exactly how to do it.

The donation list is accessible via FEC, it could have been harvested. The email and other private address that RP had, is secured. On the other hand the Rand Paul email address has been sold to everyone and his brother, sister, aunt and distant cousin. I get 100's of PAC mails, 'grassroots' astroturf groups etc....
