He let the Patriot Act be extended by unanimous consent so no one even had to stand behind a vote. Rand didn't.

But yeah, at least he voted against it in the first place.

Gihngrich said at the CBS debate that he supported the Patriot act and wanted to broaden and strengthen it. This was while NDAA was up and I took his discussion as referring to that. Romney was in favor of the Patriot Act, he just wasn't in Congress to vote on it.

When it originally passed in the wake of 9/11 it was a 434-1 vote in the house. Ron was the only elected official who kept his head and didn't cave in to all the false appeals to patriotism.
