Did Ron insinuate that he might run 3rd party?

As far as I'm concerned RP is getting MY vote. I refuse to vote the party line. I refuse to accept the false dichotomy inherent in the system. I refuse to be patronized, abused, and neglected by the corporate whores who call themselves Republicans. I will vote for a candidate who advocates views similar to my own, no matter what party he(or she) comes from. I think Ron would be doing the cause of liberty a great injustice if after losing the GOP nomination he refused to continue his campaign by other means. If the GOP doesn't start respecting this movement we should abandon it just as it has abandoned us.

Whether as part of the Republican party, the Libertarian Party, or a new party of our own creation, this movement MUST NOT fail, for America's sake.

OK, I like Dr Paul too and I'm an eternal optimist.

But let's try to see this from the viewpoint of the neocons who currently run the GOP. Their calculation is that Dr Paul would not win a third-party bid -- especially if the MSM continues to ignore him -- but he would draw enough votes away from the Democrats to allow the Republicans to squeak through with a victory.

IOW, what I'm saying is, let's not allow our enthusiasm and optimism to set us up as someone else's tool. Especially *those* guys. Let's be savvy about this, OK?

I really think this is true. Here's why. Obama and Clinton supporters are not likely to vote for the other. Polls were done and such and they typically hate the opposing candidate. Much like we won't vote for McCain if he gets the nomination. All those democratic votes have to go somewhere, it is not going to go to the republican candidate if it is McCain or any other tool. It is very well probable it would go to third party, then all those repubs that are left out n the cold would not vote democrat, they would go third party. No one is seeing eye to eye and everyone is split, Ron Paul third party is the compromise. The Great Compromise of 2008.

I wasted my time watching the debate 'til the end, where I fastforwarded to see if Ron got another question...I never saw this, so...YOUTUBE?!

your right. It's about US taking OVER the GOP!

Yes. Because, in the system as it is today, control of one of the two major parties is necessary if you want to make lasting changes.

Also because, well, somebody has to kick *those* guys out of the positions of power they're using to ruin our country (and everyone else's).

I want Ron Paul to run 3rd party and screw their sorry Republican butts. The truth of the matter is that the Democrats have actually embraced more of the traditional Republican principles than the Republicans hold on to.

Ron Paul>Dems>GOP/Faux/Iraq War/Military-industrial complex

sure he could

If he ran 3rd party would he have any chance of winning? Can both republicans and democrats vote for him? And will people actually vote for a 3rd party candidate?

If Ron Paul ran outside the R Party he'd have a shot at it.

He'd be the only candidate inline with the majority of voters on Iraq. The economy looks to be at least as major an issue as foreign policy, and Ron Paul is the only one consistently sounding the alarm while the others are advocating more spending.

It is very possible the Bloomberg will run, and also still possible that a Xtian organization will back someone.

And the Green Party looks like it will mount a 50 state effort.

So you'd have Ron Paul, the D nominee, the R nominee, Bloomberg, maybe a Xtian and the possibility of a high profile Green (maybe Nader).

With that many candidates, Ron Paul's hopes very much rise.

Plus, he's already on the radar due to his major successes so far.

There's a good chance he'd make the debates. It is a very exciting possibility.

We need to HOLD the 3rd party talk until the proper time, please. There's a lot more damage to be done within the Republicrat party before we're done.

Could someone please tell me why they keep asking him that question?

It's like they are begging him to do it.

Here is the answer Molly1. A lot of Republicans have not been convinced that Dr. Paul is a real Republican, (until tonight), a real Republican respects the nomination and does not run 3rd Party. I for one always believed Dr. Paul when he said he was a Republican, and now that he has ruled out a 3rd Party run the GOP base will be able to trust him.

This should help RP in the polls a little, and it goes a long way for setting up a RP endorsement... which will probably be Romney... Romney will promise to be more conservative and respect the Constitution a little more and in exchange Ron Paul will endorse him.. we all go to the polls in the General Election and vote Romney (or whoever RP endorses) and... yippy... we get a semi-conseravative Republican over a Marxist... compromise.

Are you really serious :D
Dr.Ron Paul will never endorse anybody from this gang.
I hope you are not serious!

They simply want to waste our efforts and the sooner the better, because they see how fast we are growing on the ground during this primary and they are not pretty happy about this. So we have to piss them off and keep going even harder!
