Can someone run the DVR back and listen to his answer on the question about whether he was in step with the Republican party? I could have sworn he threw in a subtle comment that he might run 3rd party.

He said there is very little chance, but it would certainly keep the GOP on their toes if he did. At least that's what I remember of it.

If he ran 3rd party would he have any chance of winning? Can both republicans and democrats vote for him? And will people actually vote for a 3rd party candidate?

yea he did kinda say something along the line of you better watch out because I can keep you out of the white house

He basically said he had no intention of doing so, but it would do the Republican party well to be afraid of him doing so because they are railing against what the people want, and being more of an exclusive party rather than inclusive to people who believe in the constitution and being fiscally responsible.

A win would be unlikely, but it would absolutely ensure a Republican loss.

I liked his response to this. Even if it didn't come across to people watching the debate it was a chilling declaration towards the republican party and they SHOULD be scared.

No, he was basically excluding that and appealing to the GOP to treat the Republicans that support the Constitution as an important part of the GOP. We are now one big happy party again.

I have no clue how anyone could intrepret his words to mean anything else... if you actually look at what he said it is very clear there would be NO 3rd party run. Of course the 2nd ammendment is stone cold clear as well, and still anti-gun people try to twist and turn it to their advandage.

I took it as, "Let's put it this way, if the GOP keeps pulling shenanigans like they did in Louisiana, I'll definitely go third party."

I'm with Dr. Paul all the way. If he goes Libertarian, I'm there. But I'll still keep voting for the Ron Paul Republicans that are going to take over the old GOP.

But giving them a little bit of good old FUD isn't bad either.

He has never said he wouldn't run 3rd party, and I like the response he gave. My interpretation was that people better start shaping up in the Republican party or he will run 3rd party to save the party and the nation. I will vote for him in november even if he tells me to vote for some other candidate up there.
