I'm confused. I thought the end goal would be to phase SS out? First he will improve it so the remaining collectors get theirs with the option to phase out for people born after a certain date?

Guys, Really?? It's not about the Democratic Govenor's Association. It is all about Obama trying to id voters for 2012. The DGA is a proxy. It's Politics 101. Obama can't ID people with an attack ad because then it looks like he's already campaigning - which overexposes him and gives Ron credibility. I know we here think we know a lot about politics, but trust me, there's people whose obsession is winning campaigns. They're the kind of people who think this shit up.
