Off the top of my head. And the weather looks great so far.
(Note to self: Talk to friend at Weather Modification Bureau)
Things to do:
What: Iowa Cubs
Where: Principal Park, 2 blocks south of Downtown (Has a Wrigley Field feeling except for the fireworks show.)
When: Friday Night: 7:00 p.m. to after the game and fireworks show.
Crowd: Always 10,000 to 12,000, mostly Iowa folk.
What: Farmers' Market
Where: Court Avenue. Downtown Des Moines
When: Saturday Morning: 7 a.m. to Noon
Crowd: Always well attend, a mix of people and dogs as well.
What: Des Moines Arts Festival
Where: Gateway Park, just west of Downtown on Grand Avenue or at least you'll see it from Grand.)
When: Friday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday 11 p.m. to 5 pm.
Crowd: A great mix of Iowans and Non-Iowans
(I'll add more events as they pop into me old nogin.)
