In 1992, during the Bosnian war, I was in a semi-restricted area near the front line around Čapljina. Where the Croat faction leaders had the concentration camp for Muslims. I was caught interviewing a Muslim civilian, by unhappy Croat HVO militia. The guys who rounded up Muslims for the camps. You could say this was a tenser situation, where the right to record was in more question and my questioners had almost infinite power where they stood. I could have been shot right there with no major repercussions. And I hadn't paid for the right-of-way I was standing on LOL.
But these possible war criminals were more laid back and nicer to me than the aspiring tyrant in this vid, and what they had to say to me was more constructive than what I'm hearing from some of the Stokholm-syndromers on this board.
Criticism is important to share. But if the movement's tent is big enough to welcome folks who oppose the exercise of basic human rights...freedom to run our cameras and stand on our sidewalks without having the police called down on us....Maybe that tent is getting too big.
