DeMint is trying to win non-believers over by stating that domestic economic policy is more important than foreign policy, especially if you look at the enormous outlays tied to the mandatory spending responsibilities. Even DeMint admitted as much in his book. If you don't curb expenditures and stop currency manipulation, we won't have a defense force period. Many people don't understand this. You could eradicate the DoD completely and we'd still be running a deficit.
I'd like to give Jim the benefit here and believe this (bolded). Other than his book, has he stated this publicly? Does his book really state this?
