Actually,
Since there were 3 of us in our family as delegates, we took the whole family. We didn't reserve a room in advance, because we initially thought we would be coming home after the preregistering stuff. then return early the next day. Once we got there, after traveling for 4 hours, then the rally, and our meeting, we decided to stay the night, so we just picked the first motel that looked decent, and they gave us $20 off each room (we had to have 2)-they gave the discount since we were delegates.
The trip was quite an expense, but I felt we had to do our part for freedom-I had to also pay $20 per seat, in the convention, so my kids could sit in the guest area, just for my peace of mind to know where they were) I went as an alternate, but was seated, so I was able to vote. The amount we spent was way over what I first projected, & most likely will count as our vacation funds for the year, but well worth every penny spent. If I had it to do over, I would do it again, just to know I have done my best for freedom. I guess I am just asking, no matter what, please do go, and do your part-it's hard times for everyone, but check around, you should be able to find a motel that will give you a decent rate-there are ways to keep the cost low, and still be able to go. I saw a lot of other people there at the convention who I know sacrificed to come, but we were all committed to liberty, and thats what counts.
One last comment: here is the thought that made my family stay committed, even though the odds were against us-Ron Paul has sacrificed so much for all these years for everyone's liberty, and still again sacrificed thru so much while staying in the campaign, all to get the message out-I felt to do our own part was so small compared to how much he has given, but at least I can say I did that much to help. We have also donated several times to the campaign , and spread the word to others thru telling everyone about him, and also putting up fliers, but what is the price of freedom? I understand the plea for help, but all I am saying is even if you can't get a lot of help financially, stay committed, and please go make your voice count, no matter what. That way, you will have no regrets later, you will be able to say with clear conscience, "I did my best."
