This is why it is all hands on deck to stop Elon Musk’s DOGE team.
On Monday, Elon Musk’s DOGE revealed the federal government didn’t trace $4.7 trillion in payments.
$4.7 trillion dollars in payments were left blank, making it nearly impossible to trace, DOGE said.
“The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process),” DOGE explained in a post on X.

“In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going. Thanks to US Treasury for the great work,” DOGE said.

Trillions of dollars in taxpayer money went into a federal government black hole!
The government will audit you, track every single dollar that went into your bank account, and hunt you down to squeeze every last penny.
But once they get hold of YOUR money – they chuck it into a black hole of their choice with little to no accountability.

Musk’s DOGE has exposed trillions in waste in just the first few weeks of Trump’s second term.

It’s been funny to watch all these government officials lose their minds over DOGE. Of course they’re falling back on safety and privacy (the two things they absolutely don’t believe in) to justify their outrage.

And why isn’t this a bipartisan issue?

Cus there's no such thing as bipartisan anymore. (Good!)

Supporting anything Trump does is taken as support for him personally, and can't have that.

I never did like bipartisanship anyway

Seems to me that this is being spun a bit by everyone. The Treasury should know who the check or payment is written to. They just have no linkage backwards to the justification for the spending (budget, spending bill, etc).

Who made them optional? Can they be charged with treason? (Yes, I basically know the answers.)

I feel like we need to have a Con-con and pass an amendment stripping some authority from Congress back to the States as punishment for its institutional betrayal of the American people. They were trusted with the purse-strings and they have absolutely abused that trust beyond all words. Even detonating the Federal Reserve is not enough, because that's just cutting up their credit-card... the institution itself needs to be stripped of some of their constitutional authority by sending it back to the States. I don't see why Congress should have the power to coin money at all, in fact. All minting and currency issue should be remanded by amendment back to the States. In addition, we should pass an amendment locking down the commerce-clause so that it refers only to interstate trades and explicitly prohibiting the current back-chaining legal reasoning by which basically 100% of all commerce is interstate commerce because it uses ingredients previously acquired from other states, etc. All such regulatory powers already rightly belong to the States and not the Federal government but since Congress has blatantly disregarded the Constitution on this point -- and SCOTUS has aided and abetted them -- we should make it completely explicit by amendment and close all legal-reasoning loopholes so that Congress is forced to stay in its lane. Oh and we need to make any form of central bank or paper issue by the Federal government absolutely illegal in any form. The most explicit and broadest possible language must be used to prohibit all conceivable forms of this, including whether by digital, quantum or other technologies yet unknown to mankind. Absolutely ZERO money/paper/digital or other instruments are to be created by the Federal government. Specifically, the Federal government should be prohibited by amendment from taking on debt because it is taxation without representation.

The Pentagon and CIA never had to account for ANY payments.

Just like Rumsfeld on 09/10/01... missing trillions...

but it's only because the defense and intel is not audited. Our armed forces are not bookkeepers.

Good thing DOGE is going to go after them along with all the other bureaucrats.
