Debra on Beck 02/11 @ 10am

All she had to do was say 'No'. By saying, "I won't take a position because I don't have all the evidence" to a 9/11 truth question is as good as a 'Yes'. She just severely damaged her image and hopefully it won't hurt her in the polls, but honestly I think she just made a huge mistake.

Why didn't she just say no?

Anyway, how are people spinning it that she's a 9/11 truther - she said she didn't have a position on the issue.

thats the smart way of thinking about it. but we need dumb people to vote for her. dumb people came away thinking she is a truther

Don't underestimate people.

Anyone who actually listened was probably disgusted by his treatment of her, and anyone who read the transcripts can see that she was clearly the adult in the room.

I dunno.. reading the facebook comments from people on Debra's page there's quite a bit of people pulling their support (and plenty of people defending too)...

Guess we'll just see what happens.. hopefully we'll hear something soon from the campaign.

I'm just totally fed up with everything after seeing this shit continued to be pulled after 2 years, and a sizable proportion of people still siding with Beck. Let the place burn for all I care.

I hope this doesn't effect her candidacy. Beck is a jerk for bringing that up. Why couldn't he just ask her about her positions? Jesus.

I think Medina gave a great answer. Nobody should flatly deny that the U.S. government had nothing to do with it, because like she said the people don't know all of the facts. False Flag attacks have occurred several times in history and to completley deny that it happened on 9/11 would be absurd, and to disavow any acquaintance you have because of their beliefs on 9/11 is ridiculous. We shouldn't let these idiot Mccarthyists like Beck control the spectrum of discourse.

Medina Campaign Responds to Glenn Beck Interview

by Debra Medina on Feb 11, 2010
I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9/11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.

The question surprised me because it's not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans. This campaign has always been about private property rights and state sovereignty. It is focused on the issues facing Texans. It is not a vehicle for the 9-11 truth movement or any other group.

The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered by so clearly taking their direction from special interests instead of the people, whether it's Rick Perry and his HPV mandate or Kay Hutchison and voting for the bank bailout. It is absolutely the right and duty of a free people to question their government. Texas does not need another politician who tells you what you want to hear, then violates your liberties and steals your property anyway. I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that's the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be.

Good campaign, good candidate.

I can't believe people are blaming Beck. If she can't provide a good answer and prepare for that question, she shouldn't be running.

Alex Jones gives her a great interview, with solid ratings and no ambush questions, nothing to embarass her or discredit her, but he's a piece of shit.

The hero Beck just blew the campaign apart, but, we'll overlook it cuz he's "reaching people".

What the fuck???

Hey, you guys ringing your hands crying, wake up, this is for all the
marbles, this is the real hard ball. You have not seen anything yet,
it's going to get a whole lot hotter and tougher and nastier.

You need to understand the RINO's are absolutely terrified, they first
tried to ignore and marginalize Medina, and she went up higher in the
polls, now she actually has a shot at winning, they are stunned, but
no more, now they will try to discredit her, they won't ever play fair
debating issues they can't win, they will stoop to anything and pull
out all guns nationwide, this race in Texas is top of their list to derail.

This will eclipse Brown win in Mass, shaking up establishment RINO's
to their core, as it unleashes & energizes patriots nation-wide to both
support her here and do the same in their own locales this fall, too.

They know that and will do everything to stop that here & now!

Few developing political stories today have the potential for eventually
being seen by all as THE historical turning point that confirmed our
national return to Constitutional limits, more than a Medina win in Texas.

They know that, you need to know they see it that way, and that they
will do damn near anything to stop this, they have no moral restraints,
so you need to gird your loins, balls up, whatever you want to call it
and work your ass off for the next 21 days!!

Now, regarding this Beck interview today...

Those saying Medina would have easily deflected all of this with a simple 'no'.

I don't think so, he'd of had something else to follow up with to slam her,
he was on a mission today. I did not see a hint of him ever wanting to then
next explore any of her Constitutional Proposals as Governor if she'd just
said 'no'.

Can you imagine him embracing anything Medina, much less supporting her,
and then risk going heads-up against Palin, his new bud at Fox? No way!

BTW, for Beck to now join Chris Matthews in trying to discredit Medina is
making for some strange bedfellows, and tells me a lot more about Beck.

I really like Beck and Rush and Hannity and even Palin for what they say
and reveal about Obama, his administration, democrats, socialism, etc.,
but hate them more for not also exposing the threats to our freedoms
via RINO's. Especially, when they support them, which they always do.
They siphon off righteous indignation of all these freedom destroying
evils, right into RINO's who are as bad or worse or complicit with Demo's.

When you talk to fans of any of the above personalities, you'll get a whole
lot more traction with them saying what you like about them first, instead
of just blasting them and calling their favorite 'conservative' media guru
an idiot, cause they will just tune you out and you'll get nowhere with
them then. We can do that here, but you won't get as many converts to
listen long enough to have them join with us. Those listeners are our best
prospects, and brought along correctly will become more patriot allies.

21 days, there's no race in the country, no lightening rod or bigger, more
decisive battle to be won, than the Medina campaign for Texas Governor!

Winning this, against the most entrenched bastion of RINO's anywhere,
right here in Texas, will unleash patriots from coast to coast then boldly
doing the same in their own locales, leading with a new rallying cry heard
all across America of "Remember Medina in Texas!"

Why did she answer that way? She's afraid of offending some of her supporters... but she could have answered it like Ron Paul did.

Her answer was very similar to Ron Paul's answer(s) regarding that issue. The MSM smeared him as well for the same thing. It makes me wonder if Medina has the same honesty bug as Ron Paul. She has a hard time lying. She even has a hard time spinning. You will notice how many news articles about this same issue were released simultaneously. Media editors hate Medina. This was going to happen sooner or later.

If this hurts her it is because Texans are not yet willing to accept truth from a politician. If people are not willing to accept truth, the only method of electing our people is lying to the dimwits. We will not be able to effectively change relevant policy in this country without a greater acceptance of our issues, even if we elect a few politicians here and there.

As for people getting all pissed off at the truthers, I think your anger is misdirected. Even if it is true that a bunch of crazy guys with box cutters took down multiple buildings in a coordinated aerial attack, there are still questions to be asked. Some of the Authors of the 9/11 commission report have already stated that much of the report is based on false information. And for those using the argument that "the incompetent US government could never plan anything like this," do you claim a bunch of religious fanatics can? Do you think that the CIA and FBI are also entirely incompetent? Wouldn't you say that those organizations might be gaining a certain degree of autonomy?

As for me, and I hope for many others as well, it helps galvanize my support for her. It shows me why my intuition was to trust her in the first place.
