He asked why, if this is such an excellent bill, do the Democrats have to coax citizens into this by threatening massive fines and jail time.

Sorry but the outcome is already decided. The bill will pass. All of this is just grandstanding for the "benefit" of the voters.

It probably is predetermined, but that does not mean that the protest is without reason or merit. The louder we protest against this now and then they do it anyway, the easier it will be to rally opposition in 2010 and 2012.

Not too much time left for talking though.

Once this bill and Cap and Trade is signed into law, it's curtains for this country. The tax burden will break the backs of the middle class. 2010 and 2012 elections won't do a whole lot by that point. Just the same cycle over and over. People get pissed off AFTER the damage is done and hope the "next time will be different".

Hate to go this direction but I can't help but notice that most every speaker in support is either from a blue state full of illegals, female, or black (or all of the above). All in opposition are red state white males. It's sort of a microcosm of what this country has become.
