Impressions count every time the ad appears on someone's screen, regardless of whether they click it or do anything else.
More impressions are good because you don't have to pay for a clickthrough but a lot people still see the ad.

What about Google ads? I had a barackobama.com ad come up on a youtube video today. They seem to be similiarly priced as the facebook ads. Can anyone make a google ad?
