Dear lord, this is a tremendous ad! [RevolutionPAC - September 19th, SUPERBOMB fundraiser]

I would be curious to know what info. you have. Shoot me a PM if you it's something you would feel comfortable disclosing.

I do remember Forbes donating and maxing out to Rand, however, i don't remember if he donated to Ron. My point is that i couldn't see him dropping big dollars into Ron's campaign. Hey, i would be HAPPY to be proven wrong though :)

EDIT: I just searched through Forbes past donations and i didn't see a donation to Rand so maybe i imagined that. His overall donation profile is pretty much down the line GOP. Nothing special

Let Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke enjoy his Time-ly accolades, because history will judge that Paul had it right when it came to the Fed and its often misbegotten monetary policies.
seems to be a fan!

I think the "9/11 backlash because there are flames at the end" is a bit of a stretch, but still a valid point. It couldn't hurt for them to keep the sound track exactly the same (explosion sound) and edit that last part to be a bank in the background exploding (popping/cracking, no flames) and dollars and coins dropping back down like rain around the September 19th pic.

I can see why they have it end that way, it’s very powerful. But I don't think it’s necessary to make powerful into destructive; they don't need to be one and the same.

I don't see any backlash regarding 9/11. No bombs were used, just airplanes.

Cool ad anyway. I agree that people who are under the contribution limit should continue to donate to the campaign.

Frankly, I don't get this whole "9-11 backlash" thing - at all. The thought never even occurred to me until I read the posts in this thread. Do people really obsess over this kind of thing? Or is it just an excess of paranoia about any imaginable negative perceptions that might become associated with Ron Paul?

So ... generic flames might be too "9-11-ish" ... but exploding buildings are OK ...:confused::confused:

Somebody posted a Wikipedia quote earlier in the thread.

Found the explanation: Non-profits, like the C4L, don't have to disclose their donors, but they can contribute to Super Pacs. So.....it's fairly simple to laundry money through there.

Needless to say, foreign money in elections is illegal, and no reputable PAC would accept it.

It's actually not fairly simple. From an FEC standpoint, yes, 501(c)(4) organizations can contribute to Super PACs at unlimited amounts, and the original source of the donation need not be disclosed. However, IRS restrictions prohibit c4s from doing this past a certain point. You see, 501(c)(4) organizations are only permitted to spend a certain percentage of their budget on political expenditures (such as PAC donations), and thus any giving above that level would violation the "major purpose test" and jeopardize their tax-exempt status. Furthermore, 501(c)(4) organizations are prohibited from soliciting money for the purpose of campaign intervention, and if caught doing it would be forced to re-file as a PAC, obviously causing serious problems.

Let's get the pledge count up, we are at 284 right now:

I say they need to get their money from other, MAJOR contributors... NOT the grassroots!
Revolution PAC, and their paid leadership (not the unpaid Board or Council), has a lot to prove before we throw them our support and money. I, for one, have serious concerns about who is running RPAC, their abilities, their short track record and their motivation.

Let's see them get pledges from major contributors... the grassroots efforts are suffering because they are siphoning off funds and resources that we need for our own efforts... and CAMPAIGN contributions. We have also seen grassroots initiatives hijacked or halted in deference to RPAC.

I STRONGLY suggest everyone take a good look at RPAC before throwing them your unbridled support. Even a simple project like the Iowa Ad was handled very ineptly... and, that was their first project. We need to make sure we do not get swept up in the excitement of RPAC... thus far, they are showing no signs of being able to come anywhere close to competing with Super PACs setup for Mittney, Perry, Obama or others.

Want to put your money to a worthy and proven cause?
Donate to RonPaulHawaii... or another worthy cause!

+rep. Donate to Mike. He's doing great work down here.

I'm pretty sure this is a soundtrack is from a m o v i e I saw, let's hope they don't take it down or mute the audio

You do know, he is a member of the Revolution SuperPAC's Grassroots Council...

http://www.revolutionpac.com/grassroots-council/

Yes... he's also on the Advisory Board. Both are figurehead positions.
I voted for Carter in 1976... so, I recognize that we can all make mistakes.

Go have a good look at who's running RPAC (not the Board or Council). Take a good look at the threads regarding RPACs urgent call for grassroots help on the Iowa Ad artwork here on these forums. Its a long read, but very telling.
Then, make your own decision.

Who is being paid? I am not aware of anyone with RPAC being paid.

I don't think that is fair. It was their first project and probably they shouldn't have tried to turn it around that fast. If you recall, the majority of the problems stemmed from the fact that the great grassroots folks who did the ads didn't have permission for the pictures they had used in their ads. It's a good thing RPAC noticed it.

Oh, come on, Tarzan. That really is not fair. Ours does not have the massive corporate money that the ones you mention have. I personally am really glad that someone took the initiative to set this up for people who have already maxed out on the campaign.

I do share your concern though, that this is going to divert money away from the campaign. Dr. Paul asked us recently for 1.4 million dollars. I am not seeing anything done to raise that, but I am seeing this moneybomb for the PAC. That concerns me. The PAC must not pull money from the campaign. It should only be for people who have maxed out.

What are you talking about? If you have an accusation to make, spit it out.
