Gary Johnson Daniel Hannan, British MEP, on Gary Johnson

There you go. He conflates abortion and gay rights as "libertarian" principles. He is wrong.

Take it easy on Hannan. He has supported Ron Paul in the past and I'm pretty sure he's talked about Ron Paul a lot more than he has Gary Johnson. As far as I know this is the first time he's mentioned Gary. If you're going to act like he's the devil now for this despite his past support for Ron Paul then don't pretend like you don't know why everyone tends to hate Ron Paul's supporters even if they like Ron Paul.

I don't see he is saying Gary is better, he is saying that by his definition of libertarian (requiring abortion) he sees Gary as more libertarian. If that is your definition, he would be correct. However, Hannan in truth is more open to the managed trade bit than Ron, and so is Gary, which might explain his interest to begin with. Don't attack Hannan, just don't give him traffic. And get this off the front page.

If he just mentioned Gary Johnson then "whatever". But he rattled off an entire list of establishment shills implying that they are some sort of saviors of the GOP rather than part of the problem. Even Gary Johnson himself would probably take exception to being grouped in with the likes of Tim Pawlenty (I would hope).

I support Gary too, just not as much as I support Ron. He really should try for senate.

I wonder if he has any idea how huge his support from RP supporters would be if he ran for senate. He would instantly be promoted from a no-name who happens to be running for president to a major player in American politics in a decent position to be a serious presidential candidate in the future.

He wants RP's fame. Though what he fails to notice that Paul had worked for over 30 years to get where he is right now, and Paul never strived to be popular. He just did what he thought is best, and fame came to him as a result. He never strived for it. Another clear distinction.

This is what I have been saying for months. We could propel him into the national spotlight....if he would just run for senate.

Hannan also supported Obama over McCain. I guess judging American politicians just isn't his forte. I would think he's more attuned to the politics of his own government.

Would be bothered to care if Johnson wasn't polling between *-1%, getting refused entry to debates for low levels of support and had all of $6,000 cash on hand at the end of the last fundraising quarter.

Johnson is right there with Fred Karger and Buddy Roemer in the 'waste of time candidate' category.

Honestly I do not get all the Gary Johnson bashing (which is the same exact bashing I saw on Ron Paul and his supporters in 2007/8). Just like Paul he is not perfect, but he is on our side.

Hannan is a British politician. Not American. I remember seeing him admit that he doesn't always have all the facts and sometimes makes his comments only based on the limited picture he sees from across the pond.

That being said an endorsement for Gary is not a bad thing. Obviously I don't see Gary going anywhere in 2012 but he's got a lot of the right ideas. In a perfect world he would be my number one this go around.

And still the libertarians view him as a ticket to a libertarian utopia. I may not be one, but if i were of the libertarian faction, i woud dismiss "GARY JOHNSON" as a shill and a bad compromiser. Johnson supports faux free trade (NAFTA CAFTA) which muscles out our manufacturing base. Johnson is a fitness fanatic more than a person willing to be a president (might as well see him on a infomercial selling "Libertarian Workout or LW). Yes, he built himself a big business. So what, RP ran a business that bellied up, yet RP still espouses his genuine views concerning Austrian economics, Fair Taxation and metaphysical-realist knowledge on ancient and modern forms of currency (AKA Stable Fiat,Gold Standard, Tally Stick). And to think libertarians and the tea party look to Gary Dumbo, Michelle Bachmeister and godfather's pizza guy is mind numbing, confusing and all around idiotic. John Hospers is now rolling in his grave, and Milton Friedman is angry. May America know who to choose on in 2011. Because we might not have an america left in 2012. So while you can, indulge in everything american american. Because you will be fighting with a gun and a knife with blood on your hands. I'm Done, thats a rap
