McCain new leader and Giuliani joins us in single digits.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday now shows John McCain narrowly on top in the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination. It’s McCain 22%, Mike Huckabee 20%, Mitt Romney 20%, Fred Thompson 11%, and Rudy Giuliani at 9%. Ron Paul attracts 3% support.

New national polling data released today shows that just 13% of Americans believe Congress is doing a good or an excellent job. A separate survey shows that 57% want troops brought home from Iraq within a year.

Our experience in New Hampshire should be a lesson.

The quickest and most efficient way of beating McCain (and the others) in MICHIGAN is this:

Dr. Paul has to come out with a 'Just War' ad and say something to this effect:

'If I am elected President, I shall prohibit the CIA from meddling in other countries' political processes. But, I shall refocus the CIA towards hunting down our attackers on 9/11 - who are still very much alive despite trillions of dollars spent on the Wars and thousands of American soldiers killed or maimed.

Hunting down terrorists is a job for spies. Not the military.

Because we were attacked by terrorists on 9/11, as President it will be my solemn duty to bring these terrorists to justice, as required by our Constitution".

If Dr. Paul does NOT put out an ad to this effect, we will find it VERY DIFFICULT to beat McCain (and the rest).

Those who don't learn from the past are destined to repeat it. - Santayana.

We need to win a state convincingly very SOON guys and gals! That's the ONLY way we can protect Dr. Paul's donation base!

Come on! This ad won't cost much. Kids on YouTube can make vids in 30 minutes. We supposedly still have funds to make this ad with ease.

Kindly help me move this forward. Thanks.

I'm expecting the agression to come out of the Ron Paul campaign till after SC, cause that after everyone elses campaigns peak

Man, I think we are reduced to reading charts.

I'm a bit peeved so, here it is again.

The newsletter story is hurting bad. I heard all kinds of comments on it and even many long time libertarians are shaken by this scandal. The campaign better bring in Pros NOW to deal with this.

Why are you telling us? Send this to the Paul campaign via RonPaul2008.com

This newsletter thing is awful. We believe that Ron Paul didn't write those things, but everyone else is skeptical. Let's face it: If this story had come out about one of the other candidate, we wouldn't believe their denials either.

Libertarians are not bothered by the newsletters lmao.

Libertarians do not think of people in groups but rather as individuals.

Libertarians should know that as a libertarian, he is incapable of these thoughts.

This good. Please send to the campaign.

I agree that libertarianism is incompatible with racism but nonetheless there is no denying that the newsletters have hurt. I personally do not believe RP has a racist bone in his body. I have followed Ron Paul's career since his 1988 campaign and I have never seen him say or write these type of things. However take a look at Reason's Hit and Run comments and you will see many libertarians that have had their confidence shaken. I bring this up because if the hard core base begins to waffle then what does the story do to the gen pub or those new to "the movement"? I think the Rasmussen poll answers that question.

Libertarians should know that as a libertarian, he is incapable of these thoughts.

That statement is disingenuous, and it was when it came out of Ron Paul's mouth, too. Paul supports policies that are color-blind, but the writers of his own newsletter were bigots. Haven't you known libertarians who didn't like certain kinds of people? I know I have.

Ron Paul believes in liberty. There is a reason some white supremacists support him. It isn't because he is a racist, it is because he believes in letting people discriminate in their own private affairs. We all discriminate in one way or another, not necessarily on account of race, but EVERYONE is discriminating.

We don't need to worry about the libertarian vote. We already have it. We need to recruit NEW followers. If you don't understand how badly this newsletter thing will damage this campaign, then you don't understand the American voter. You might hold the average voter in disdain, but we still NEED their votes.
