How would he be better than Rand? I heard that he was a supporter of the war in Iraq. If Miller supported the war in Iraq and Rand opposed it, how exactly is Miller better than Rand?

How exactly is Hagel good? He's been advocating all kinds of foreign intervention since he's been Secretary of Defense. He's also a big supporter of international organizations and is on record as wanting to bring back the draft.

I never said Hagel was good but to say "he's less than a fan of the military" and should be opposed because he had doubts about the Iraq war in 2006 was stupid and shows you that Cruz is a liar willing to use neocon positions to attack his opponents. He also insinuated he was being paid by foreign agents.

In fact, it was the powerful appeal of Goldwater among young people that made Reagan's success possible (even though Reagan turned out to be a sham).

I didn't agree with him on that, either. I also keep in the back of my mind the PAC he started that Jr. Bush now heads and who his wife works for. However, for the most part he has been voting the closest to our ideals than most any other Senator besides Rand.

I'm not sure what you thinks it gains us to call him names.

The voting record and rhetoric don't mean anything. He's already got himself into the 2016 presidential polls (even though he's ineligible) and his job is to screw Rand while looking like his buddy. Just remember that the next time he sounds like him.

He might have changed his position. Joe is a lot more libertarian than he was back in 2010. He barely knew who Ron Paul was in 2010, now he's been heavily influenced by Ron's ideas, is working with Ron's supporters in the AK GOP and his wife campaigned for Ron.

Probably still hawkish on Iran, though.
