Since it seems that Dennis Kucinich is our ally more or less in the battle to restore our Government, I wanted to take the time to address some of the criticisms that Ohio Republicans tend to disseminate about the man who's principals are bigger than his physical person.

If you've ever waged this war, feel free to post your results.

Our Democratic ally Dennis "The Menace" Kucinich is dead set on getting President Bush impeached.

If your interested in supporting one of the 2:533 in his efforts to push for political accountability, you can sign his petition here.

At least hear him out no??

That sounds like the same kinda additude you ask us not to have toward Bush, rather blame all of his misdeeds and crimes on the Clinton Administration. Maybe your only willing to make excuses like that for Republicans.

According to wikipedia, the city was hitting rock bottom before Kucinich took office, thats why one of the central campaign issues for the candidates in that race was the selling of the "city's publicly-owned electric company, Municipal Light". Wikipedia goes on to detail how the banks and CEI tried to pressure Kucenich into selling, when the city of Cleveland actually had more to gain from the antitrust suit against CEI than it would have from the sale of Municipal Light.

"There is little debate," wrote Cleveland Magazine in May 1996, "over the value of Muny Light today. Now Cleveland Public Power, it is a proven asset to the city that between 1985 and 1995 saved its customers $195,148,520 over what they would have paid CEI." Kucinich's move also preserved hundreds of union jobs. In 1998, city council granted Kucinich amnesty, stating that he had "the courage and foresight to refuse to sell the city's municipal electric system."

Also Dennis Kucenich was not the only Mayor in office while the Cuyahoga River burned.

Fires plagued the Cuyahoga River beginning in 1936 when a spark from a blow torch ignited floating debris and oils. The largest river fire in 1952 caused over $1 million in damage to boats and a riverfront office building.[7] Fires erupted on the river several more times before June 22, 1969, when a river fire captured the attention of Time magazine, which described the Cuyahoga as the river that "oozes rather than flows" and in which a person "does not drown but decays."

That river was burning 10 years before Kucinich was even born, and 41 years before he took office. I can't imagine how that could be construed as his fault. Half a century or more of environmental neglect cannot simply be resolved in a 3 year mayoral term.

Thanks for making me more familiar with Congressman Kucinich's political history. learning is never a bad thing.

Hahahahah. :D True that.

I like Kucinich and I like what he is trying to do and I hope he gets it done. I probably would have voted for him too had he gotten the nomination.

What a joke! We have guy who is a raging socialist and wants the federal government to micro manage health care, education and just about everything else they have no constitutional authority to do, and burning down the Cuyahoga River is the best they can come up with.

He is far from in sync with our ideals, but does does share some of our principals, listen to what Dr. Paul has to say about Dennis Kucinich.

Here is what Dennis Kucinich has to say about Ron Paul.

They obviously have a mutual respect for one another, and while Kucinich is definately a socialist, he's willing to work and compromise, to find middle ground with his political rivals. He is also of the mind to end the war and prevent further unconstitutional war.

I'm against public health care, but I fully believe public schools can be retooled in such a way that they can work. I do believe in a voucher program though, because public school shouldn't be the only option. And just about any tax paying citizen could afford to send their kid to private school if they weren't paying taxes.

amen!!!

He'd be just fine as a next door neighbor, NOT as one of my rulers.

Oh shoot, that just goes for and applies to almost everybody else too. Hunh!

Does this mean your anarchy has softened or that you'd just as soon not have the Clintons mucking up your neighborhood?

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I'll stand and fight beside Kuchinich supporters eight days a week. Once we confiscate this stolen nation, I know we can count on the Kuchinich crowd to negotiate fairly and in good faith.

Both he and Dr. Paul carry ideals far bigger than their physical selves. Look at some of the House votes and you might just find that he's the second best libertarian there (both high praise for Kuchinich and faint praise which, by extension, is a severe condemnation of all those so-called "conservatives"), and tied for greatest patriot.

How a mayor is supposed to prevent a specific fire I don't know. How such a thorough liberal can be this conservative's second favorite Represenative is a sad, sad tale you all know too well. But only the ones trying to preserve the New Class System and fools would disrespect his supporters imo--whether their economic ideas are kooky or not!

anarchy = rulerless AKA no shepherds. You know, like the grownups live everyday. ;)

I dont want or need a leader or ruler, i want a Representative, and barely that.

because he has some semblance of respect for the constitution, and that for me is issue NUMBER 1.

i don't want everyone to agree with every aspect of the Revolution, I just want them to observe the laws set forth in the Constitution. Thats why i posted this in the first place, because everyone talks about the economy, and the war, but at the root of it all is the fact that our elected representatives and their appointed goons do not adhere to constitutional law.

Why? The Constitution is not respectable.<IMHO> Just ask almost everyone in government. ;) Of course, they'll probably just lie to you again and SAY that they do.

there is no intelligent response to such a ridiculous and offensive statement. Its on par with says something like "I'd like to fk your mother". It may be your opinion, but its still gonna earn you a fat lip.

Kucinich is doing a lot of good things against the Bush administration, but he's still a socialist.
