I am picking up that more and more people are having their credit charge rejected.
Mod's might want to sticky this.

I would like to see how big a problem this is becoming. If you have it happen, or someone else talks about it happening to them, let's keep track on how bad it is getting.

It might be one of the best quick indicators on the potential for a meltdown.

Banks have been reducing the card limits, usually according to zip code. Haven't heard of a general reduction across the whole USA, only in areas most affected by housing decline. So it would be more likely to happen in Las Vegas, Miami, Sacramento than in the heartland USA.

Thank you.

If we start to see a big increase in problems, we want to have a handle on having supplies in store.

If commerce starts to shut off suppliers and people on charges things are going to get bad quickly. Better to be ahead of the curve.

I work in the trucking industry and there has been a lot of credit cards being declined and when I call the customer they claim to have huge limits and they do not understand why the card is declining. This has always happened but now it happens a lot.

CC companies routinely periodically scan your credit report which tells them your debt to asset and debt to income ratios. They adjust credit limits and credit scores accordingly.

If we had any real gumption, we'd start a CC company. Those greedy, bloated bastards wouldn't stand a chance against a real alternative, IMO.

In fact, in all of the BS regarding the 'meltdown', 'crisis', 'crash', 'credit crunch', 'depression', 'recession', 'panic', blah, blah...

Where the hell is the American Entrepreneur?

We all know that government, in bed with the syphlitic banksters, can't find their asses with both hands, let alone solve anything economic.

Now is the perfect time for small businesses to initiate and execute a plan, while the thieves are distracted in their grand efforts rule the world.

OK, ok...I just caught myself day dreaming for a minute. We can go back to reacting after the fact. ;)

You know, I like your style.

In my opinion, people have gotten way too used to credit. People need to start thinking about living within their means and not using credit to get what they think they need.

What I am worried about is if trucker's, that are delivering goods, can't charge for fuel.

And people get their charge for gas rejected. That becomes a big problem.

Not so much getting a new credit card here vs. if critical people can't deliver what we need.

Thank you for the feedback on the trucking industry. That is the one that has me concerned.

Not just people........businesses and government as well. Why should people live within their mean when our corporations and government can't? What came first the debt ridden consumer or the debt ridden business? Or the debt ridden government? LOL.

This is the whole problem. People are using too much credit to do business.
Why should a business use credit if they are in the business to produce? They should not need credit because they are producing and taking in money. That money then should be turned around to grow the business and make it run. They should not need to use credit once they have their business going.

Face it.
This is a designed coup de tat.
We, the American people are the spearhead over the entire world, and we have all fallen for it, the entire world, hook line and sinker.
Big changes are a coming.
Certainly in the coming month. Very possibly over just this weekend. Whatever they decide this weekend will be sold by the media for a little time and if more devastation need occur to sell the plan, so be it.
They will be happy to oblige in that regard.
People get ready.
This is Endgame.

Business needs to be able to use credit.

A long haul trucker can't take cash to pay for every time they have to fill up the truck. Same if you have to fly on business. Are you going to run down to the airline to pay cash to book a flight? Carry cash to pay for a hotel and meals with no idea of the meal costs?

It might come down to that in the future but, it is going to be a big pain if you are traveling out of the country and have to carry enough cash to pay for things.

I agree credit should be used sparingly but, I do feel it has made it easier to do business when you need to charge.

LOCAL Baby-Boomers using part of their retirements to invest in LOCAL, PRIVATE investment partnerships making private equity investments in LOCAL businesses FOR THE WIN------or leave it in a big cap mutual fund and watch it dwindle away.

EXACTLY! :) But how many corporations have cash on hand? They don't "like" cash on hand because instead of sitting on it for a rainy day they'd rather invest it and make more money. GREED! Plain and simple. Just like insurance companies. They don't make their profits from premiums. They make their profits from investing OUR money and if shit doesn't happen...........they still get the money. Insurance is as big of a scam as banking. And like banking, insurance has the backing of the U.S. legal system and laws.

This makes no sense. Credit and debt are not the same thing as practicality. Using your debit card to purchase gas is one thing........"charging" with your credit card is another. Debit cards are like cash, credit cards are not. If American businesses need "debt/credit" to function on a daily basis well.........we need to rework our business model entirely.

I'm glad I have no credit cards, but I was able to secure a small used auto loan in September. If they suddenly decline my debit card I would go bang on my bank's doors. :D

With all due respect to what is considered acceptable business practice today.
Credit should have never become a must for any business or home to operate successfully. I can understand perfectly the need to automate transactions but I can not understand how credit has become acceptable as a necessity in everyday life.
It was a trap then and it is a gottya now.
