Credit card charge being rejected?

Hey great if they can use a debit card.

The reality is, if you have 50K people employed and a many of them have to travel they get better exchange rates with a credit card in foreign countries. Many companies do allow cash advances for travel.

I bet there there are few, big corporations, that use debit cards.

Reason being it would present a big potential for fraud before they might get a handle on it.

Example, I decide I am mad at the company and go out and run up a mega buying spree and leave the country. I bet with a debit card of a large corporation, if done in the right way, I could clean their clock in several hours and fly first class leaving.

Not going to happen folks. I worked for a Large Corporation and people will take advantage.

Sounds like the result of a well thought out plan to me.
Lets call it the pig man plan.

There are such things as credit limits. Maybe a debit card is impractical but there are such things as Visa cards with certain precharged limits on them.

You are right.

With a credit card, and a lot of quick charges, they would be putting a stop on suspicious charges until they made sure all was right.

A debit card is cart blanche.

I worked at a company that would issue visa check cards for travel, special events, etc. We paid cash for them and if the predetermined amount was exceeded, the person carrying the card needed to pick up the balance until re-embursed.

Pretty simple.

Retailers would never be allowed to accept more CC competitors. There's an oligopoly.

What if you came up with a debit card that pulled money out of someone's Gold account? You could make the argument that with inflation exploding, the month they wait to get paid on the transactions wipes out a certain dollar amount of their wealth, and so it would be in their interest to see such a convenient card succeed.

What I am worried about is if trucker's, that are delivering goods, can't charge for fuel.

And people get their charge for gas rejected. That becomes a big problem.

Not so much getting a new credit card here vs. if critical people can't deliver what we need.

Thank you for the feedback on the trucking industry. That is the one that has me concerned.

There are already some reports/rumors from the truckers.
