Does anyone else notice that every neocon argument on foreign policy resorts to emotional appeal? In the last hour I've heard the 9/11 card played, as well as someone saying that our policies in Afghanistan have empowered the women in the region (the implication being, if you disagree with our foreign policy, you must hate those women!). Now Coulter is going on and on about providing democracy to the Middle East - another emotional appeal.

I'd say we have about 15% of the ballroom. Not great, but it's much better than last year. Expect a mixed reaction when results are released.

You are letting the media create divides in the movement where there should be none, especially on such petty shit as this. The media is going to demonize, marginalize, and smear Ron no matter what we do. You don't want to alienate the most passionate of supporters do you?

everyone that is going crazy is being a bit ridiclious. There are neocons that get there at 9 and never move, sitting there listing to every speaker. Its true, they dont pick and choose like us. Also, its very difficult to "fill the room" because a.) there is reserved diamound seating which is all old wealthy conservatives, and b.) assuming we get 30% of those who voted, which is not everyone who will be there, we are still in the minority against all the neocons combined. So chill out and lets just see what will happen. Hopefully Johnsons people will applaud for us too.

We can't take this straw poll too seriously, win or lose. Straw Polls have been rendered mute. I'm still going to enjoy this if we win, but we can't dwell on the boos. I do wish there was a more concerted effort by the Paul supporters with packing the main room for the victory. 10% of RP supporters screaming cheers at the top of their lungs just may be enough to guarantee a mixed reaction at the worst.
