Coulter on Paul: Odd mix

yeah I heard, the most alarming thing to me is that the Judge did not say anything though I'msure he was itching to duke it out with Coulter and Brian

She has had too much neo-con Kool-Aid when it comes to foreign policy. Besides that, she's actually decent on domestic/fiscal conservatism. She hates Huckabee for his liberal tendencies... really hates him!

From what I've seen, that's the position of a lot of Republicans. They like him on the domestic stuff, they hate him and thinks he's insane on foreign policy.

If we want to challenge their view that Islamofascism is the biggest threat... I think we need to show that the government has been using fear tactics and promoting hysteria for the 'Islamofacsist' threat, for their own purposes. Personally I think they manipulate people, through fear. But I'm sure not everyone will agree.

Anyway, it's good that at least Ann Coulter gave him credit for everything else, even if she bashed him on foreign policy.

I'm actually pretty darn happy with what the Coultergeist had to say about RP.

On "insane foreign policy," we just need to keep hammering home the point that if we don't fix our economic issues, we won't have anything left to defend. See also: David Walker, comptroller general.

That just goes to show that the message of liberty crosses all political lines, because I love Ron Paul and I HATE that bitch.

We need Ron Paul on Ann Coulter's radio show. This could be a potential for another Beck situation, where RP gets a lot of exposure to a Republican audience. Shes just like Beck, they agree on Domestic policy and will argue about Foreign.

Coulter has a radio show?

I agree with this 100%, and I think this is one area the campaign really needs to start emphasizing soon to win over republicans. I have heard Dr. Paul say several times that the Islamic terrorists don't hate us because of our freedom, but because we are occupying their lands. But it goes much more beyond that. I heard him once say that invading Afghanistan and Iraq over a few terrorists is akin to invading Sicily because of the mafia in this country. I think that is a great comparison, but I don't hear it very often. The threat by Islam extremists is way overblown and plays into people's fears because of what happened on 9/11.

So few people in America truly understand Islam and Muslims. I have lived among Muslims in the Middle East in the past, for years at a time, and they are basically peaceful people who are struggling to get by in life just like everyone else. They want to be left alone to live their own lives. I remember when we chased the Taliban out of Kabul, and the western reporters went in and started talking to women on the street who were wearing head scarves. They told them: "You're free now, you don't have to wear those." The young women were in shock, and replied, "But we're Muslims! We want to wear these!" Westerners just assume that all people are forced to be Muslims and all women are oppressed, etc., and they we just need to go over there and rescue them from Islam. But they look at our culture as the one that is morally bankrupt, and they see our presence as pure colonialism. How sad that so few Americans really understand how most Muslims view America.

I've been lurking places like Free Republic for years.

Most of those guys will never give up on their soma.
They are hooked on the mainstream, big government
verision of republican. They simply will never understand,
or even want to understand what Freedom and Liberty
are about.

We can't move them at all, they are stuck on stupid.

There is no need to waste any effort with people like that,
it is just a waste of our time and energy.

I disagree. we don't need to downplay "islamofascism" as pure fear mongering but convince the republican base that we take this problem seriously but think that the current policy is counterproductive.

To win over these people, RP needs to address their concerns---Bin Laden.

Personally, I think he is long dead, but if RP said he'd take the troops out of Iraq, and go after Bin Laden, BINGO! Think about it.

I think that most everyone on all sides understands that Bin Laden does not matter any more. If they kill him tomorrow, nothing will change.

oh nos, if we don't bomb teh ebil islamoterroristfacistbabykillers the constitution will be replaced by the koran by a few thousand assholes in caves!

What the fuck

We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war. ~Ann Coulter, September 13, 2001

Ummm, I'll pass.

We do not want or need an endorsement from that demon bitch.

Let her suck on McCain's veins.
