unfortunately, crashing the market would be counter productive to our cause. While it will spread the importance of sound monetary policy, the powerful often use times of crisis to impose ever more authoritarian rule upon the less powerful. In times of economic crisis, the wealthy buy up all of what the less wealthy are forced to sell, at highly discounted prices. I think the cons here outweigh the pros.

The FED has this sort of control through currency debasement when they lower the rates.

when the FED lowers the rate, the market reacts like a cocaine addict would but then the effect eventually diminishes leaving the addict even more desperate. What the FED is doing is simply making it worse. They have simply overplayed their hand. I would suspect on purpose, if this is anything like what happened around the great depression.

Yeah, really. There would be something satisfying if all these media giants had huge losses. Unfortunately if that happens the government would come in, declare emergency and take over the networks (if that hasn't already happened behind the scenes).

Nah; George Soros singlehandedly broke the Bank of England; that was possible because the pound wasn't floating and was restricted to the ERM.
