There are good cops, it's just a shame that they're so few and far between.
People, to include the media, often focus on the negative, even when many positive things are happening all around them.
Perhaps this is because it is easier to vilify others, and/or create a news headline ?
Reading comprehension ?The argument that "we only focus on the bad and not the good" falls to pieces when you consider that bad cops are not held accountable for their criminal actions.
If you want to hold up good cops as being the standard of the day, send the bad cops who kill or beat innocent people, steal from people, plant evidence, shoot harmless animals, etc... send those people to jail, then I'll talk

But yea, around here, as it relates to cops, you seem to be correct ... "only focus on the bad".
This thread is just another testament to a biased mentality.
Most everything is seen in the negative ... Ron Paul being one of few exceptions![]()
And there in lies the rub ... I have said bad cops should be held accountable.Never mind the fact that you always seem to dodge the point of bad cops never being held accountable, you want to know why there are more stories about bad cops than good cops? It's not because the media prefers 'bad cop' stories... they actually love 'good cop' stories, there are just so few good cops.
But again, all of that is irrelevant. You're still clinging onto this "bad apple" way of thinking. If it were an issue of just a few bad apples, the bad apples would be fired or at least disciplined for their criminal actions. However, these bad cops are more likely to get a pat on the back than a slap on the wrist.
When bad cops are not held accountable for their crimes, this is not indicative of a few bad apples, but rather a failed institution.

I just don't rush to judgement under the premise that most/all of them are bad, and therefore they should all be found guilty before the evidence is known.
I also don't shout the mantra of never call the cops
I'm glad the lady in the video wasn't afraid to call the cops !!
Aren't you ?

Bullshit. Just like AF says... it's not news when a cop is just doing his job. Every day there are good cops out there doing their job; likewise, every day there are bad cops who should be fired or convicted. That is why an organization like Oath Keepers is so important.Never mind the fact that you always seem to dodge the point of bad cops never being held accountable, you want to know why there are more stories about bad cops than good cops? I realize it is more than "just a few bad apples" just like I realize the stupidity of "all cops are bad". Hence the need for organizations like Oath Keepers. But again, all of that is irrelevant.
