Thank you for your interest in the Constitution Party! We welcome you to the growing list of Americans who are seeking a political home and one that will return our country to a ConstitutionalRepublic that our founding fathers would recognize.

As the date of the Constitution Party National Convention (April 23-26 in Kansas City, Missouri) approaches, several prominent Americans have expressed an openness to considering the possibility of seeking the Constitution Party Presidential nomination. Among those are former United States Senator Bob Smith; former Alabama Chief Justice, Roy Moore; the 2004 Vice-Presidential Nominee of the Constitution Party, Chuck Baldwin; WorldNetDaily. com writer and author of the best selling "The Late, Great USA", Dr. Jerome Corsi; and former Ambassador to the United Nations, Alan Keyes. This is is not a closed list and it is possible that there may still be others who are considering the possibility of seeking the 2008 Constitution Party nomination.

Senator Smith recently wrote an excellent and exclusive "call to action" article for Constitution Party website, entitled, "It's the Constitution, Stupid!" That article can be found here.

Regardless of who emerges as the eventual Constitution Party nominee, one thing is certain: He will need to be on the ballot in states all across the country in order to wage a successful campaign! The Constitution Party is making excellent progress in its 2008 ballot access campaign. It is currently already on the ballot in 15 states. That puts it well ahead of where we were this time in 2004! We are nearly finished with petition drives in Ohio and South Dakota and are making excellent progress in West Virginia and New Mexico as well. Petitioning has now commenced in a number of other states.

What most people don't realize is that the ballot access petition campaign is a very expensive process. While we certainly do receive volunteer participation in our ballot petition drives from Constitution Party members and supporters in the various states, the great bulk of the work is, of necessity, done by paid professional petitioners. That means that just getting on the ballot can be a very expensive proposition. Without ballot access, however, the effort can go nowhere. Therefore, it is essential that the Constitution Party adequately fund its ballot effort so that we can be assured of having a Constitution Party Presidential candidate on the ballot in every state in the nation. (Click here to read more about the ballot access hurdles new parties face.)

While we have made an excellent beginning on our ballot access campaign, the fact is that your financial help is urgently needed NOW if the Constitution Party is going to be able to continue to make progress in placing its Presidential ticket on all of the state ballots. We do not receive funding from corporate PAC's, lobbies or other special interests. We depend on the average American. We depend on YOU! Won't you please help this effort, TODAY, so that we can be sure of giving the American people a real Constitutional choice in 2008.

Answers to any questions you have about our party's positions can be found in our Platform, which is located on our website here.

A comparison between the strengths of the Constitution Party and other political parties is detailed in the article "We Will be Heard" by our National Chairman, Jim Clymer.

The Constitution Party is the 3rd largest political party in the country in terms of voter registration (see this report:
http://www.ballot-access.org/2006/070106.html#11 ) As you can see on the chart named "Mid 2006 Registration Totals" at the Ballot-Access News website, the Constitution Party has more registered voters than the Libertarian, Green or Reform parties that you've heard more about.

So why haven't more people heard of the 3rd largest political party in the country from the national media? It is because they don't want you to know we exist so we won't have a chance to upset the monopoly the Republican/Democrat party has over American politics.

We believe that voters should have the opportunity to vote for the party of their choice, however, the 2 major parties don't want you to. Please read the article "Why America Needs a Third Party" from our website.

I favor Ron Paul over any Constitution Party nominee.

Constitution Party + Libertarian Party + Ron Paul Republicans = pretty big tent

...If only we could all just get along...

LOL hundred years from now we will still have a two party system.. the Libs vs. the Cons.. they can argue over how much to shrink the government. :D

The thing we should have all learned from this campaign thus far, is the urgent need to be represented by one of the two parties.

Therefore, we can only come to one conclusion, and that is take over the Party that has brought us such grief and anger, that is the Republican Party.

The name still gives me that feeling of saying f u to these guys, but in the end the Republican Party would love for us to just turn and go away.

I will not. Neither will my meetup group. We are busy infiltrating my county Republican Party, and within this year, we will own it. That's the way, just silently take over by numbers, and then grab the positions of power, and delegates.

Yes maybe one day other parties can be important but now is the time to get in and involved with the Republican party. Strength in numbers and hopefully we can get many "3rd party people" to swell the ranks of the Republican party!

I am an LP member, but the system is rigged against 3rd parties. I disagree with RP on abortion and immigration, but we have to stick together or be marginalized.

The CP is the LP with a religous twist.

Picture this:

LP = Ron Paul
CP = Mike Huckabee

The CP violates the constitution by declaring that the US was built on Christianity and that that religion comes before all others in laws in our society.

The CP is really the Christian Conservitive Liberty Party.

The CP and the LP have very different ideals... I don't want to get along with a party that seems to believe they know what kind of family and sexuality is best for this nation.

There is no conclusive evidence that any of the popular 3rd parties (Constitution Party, Libertarian Party, Green Party, etc.) are actually the 3rd largest. They all claim to be, though...

Isn't it great one can just lie through their teeth on this forum? The Constitution Party does not try and violate the Constitution at all.

Isn't it great one can just lie through their teeth on this forum? The Constitution Party does not try and violate the Constitution at all.

Let us visit their official platform page and look at how they differ from the libertarian party. ( http://constitutionparty.com/party_platform.php )

Pornography

Pornography, at best, is a distortion of the true nature of sex created by God for the procreative union between one man and one woman in the holy bonds of matrimony, and at worst, is a destructive element of society resulting in significant and real emotional, physical, spiritual and financial costs to individuals, families and communities. We call on our local, state and federal governments to uphold our cherished First Amendment right to free speech by vigorously enforcing our laws against obscenity to maintain a degree of separation between that which is truly speech and that which only seeks to distort and destroy.

With the advent of the Internet and the benevolent neglect of the previous administrations, the pornography industry enjoyed uninhibited growth and expansion until the point today that we live in a sex-saturated society where almost nothing remains untainted by its perversion. While we believe in the responsibility of the individual and corporate entities to regulate themselves, we also believe that our collective representative body we call government plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining the highest level of decency in our community standards.

Gambling

Gambling promotes an increase in crime, destruction of family values, and a decline in the moral fiber of our country. We are opposed to government sponsorship, involvement in, or promotion of gambling, such as lotteries, or subsidization of Native American casinos in the name of economic development. We call for the repeal of federal legislation that usurps state and local authority regarding authorization and regulation of tribal casinos in the states.

AIDS

HIV / AIDS is a contagious disease which is dangerous to public health. It should not be treated as a civil rights issue. Under no circumstances should the federal government continue to subsidize activities which have the effect of encouraging perverted or promiscuous sexual conduct. Criminal penalties should apply to those whose willful acts of omission or commission place members of the public at risk of contracting HIV / AIDS.

Drug Abuse

The Constitution Party will uphold the right of states and localities to restrict access to drugs and to enforce such restrictions. We support legislation to stop the flow of illegal drugs into the United States from foreign sources. As a matter of self-defense, retaliatory policies including embargoes, sanctions, and tariffs, should be considered.

Sanctity of Life

The pre-born child, whose life begins at fertilization, is a human being created in God's image. The first duty of the law is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. It is, therefore, the duty of all civil governments to secure and to safeguard the lives of the pre-born.

To that end, the Constitution of the United States was ordained and established for "ourselves and our posterity." Under no circumstances may the federal government fund or otherwise support any state or local government or any organization or entity, foreign or domestic, which advocates, encourages or participates in the practice of abortion. We also oppose the distribution and use of all abortifacients.

We affirm the God-given legal personhood of all unborn human beings, without exception. As to matters of rape and incest, it is unconscionable to take the life of an innocent child for the crimes of his father.

No government may legalize the taking of the unalienable right to life without justification, including the life of the pre-born; abortion may not be declared lawful by any institution of state or local government - legislative, judicial, or executive. The right to life should not be made dependent upon a vote of a majority of any legislative body.

What IS the big draw to the Constitution Party with some of you guys?

I like the cultural progress the USA has made over 100 years, and would not like to turn the clock back on it all and return to a puritanical, dominionist theocracy.

You do realize that the Constitution Party is on both state and national levels, right?

I do, which probably means I could only support a Constitution Party candidate running for national public office. I'm sure many people on the forums would find their attempts at legislating morality disturbing, did you not see the thread where Paulites struck down similar statements in the Alaska GOP Platform?

So? I have major griefs about the Libertarian Party and I will not become apart of it.

List your grievances.

If you throw both parties in a blender and you have a good party. Seperate, they are both ineffective. The constitution party goes way too far on the religious end but they share the constitutional respect that is necessary to get my vote BUT the Consitution party to me violates the some civil liberties in the name of god and that is unacceptable.

Isn't it great one can just lie through their teeth on this forum? The Constitution Party does not try and violate the Constitution at all.

Oh, come on, Tim, you know better than that. Read their platform. They support the unconstitutional drug war and restrictions on the First Amendment, just for starters.

I've always thought of you as one of the straight-shooters here, but speaking of lying through teeth... sorry if that seems insulting, but they're your own words.

don't get your hopes up, the Constitution Party isn't that big. from Wikipedia:

According to ballot access expert Richard Winger, the editor of Ballot Access News, who periodically compiles and analyzes voter registration statistics as reported by state voter agencies, it ranks third nationally amongst all United States political parties in registered voters, with 366,937 registered members as of November 2006.[1] However, Winger states, nearly all of the 315,151 California voters affiliated with the Constitution Party are actually registrants of California's American Independent Party -- and they so registered in the belief that they were registering as independents (i.e., not associating with any political party).
