Constitution Day Moneybomb, Sep 17th. Planning, promotion and more promotion thread.

We want to make sure all the pledges to show up on one counter. Otherwise, that will dilute it too much. afw, what you are talking about sounds like a lot of work. I think it would be great if you did your own site, but we need to have only one site for the money bomb. Maybe you can link to the pledge pages for each moneybomb date we have going? You are doing great! I can't wait to see what you have in mind.

I will try to contact Gage.

I am not making a site, just working on a video and spreading the word.
Looks like we have the site and the Facebook event.

You folks are welcome to use my signature to promote the moneybombs on the board.

This forum seems to have suffered a brain drain. There were a lot of highly skilled, tech-savvy folks around for the last campaign....either they gave up on Ron Paul or they haven't gotten involved yet. Where are you guys? :(

wow. That is really cool afw.

I contacted Gage to make a few changes to that website do it only has the one date. If Gage agrees, then we can move forward tomorrow and really start pushing this.

it is a one day moneybomb with and end of quarter push I think.....
Which will work perfect because they can leave the ticker up for a week or so, not to mention the Jon Stewart interview will be during that time, I believe there is also a debate.

afw,

We don't want people to donate on several days. We need a big total for one day. If they want to donate on other days, having a one day money bomb won't hurt that, but having a push for the 17th through the 30th will hurt the money bomb. The campaign can do a push for other fundraising for the end of the quarter. Let's us do something that has the most impact.

We need a 9 million dollar day. We can do it.

I disagree. Look at yesterday's birthday moneybomb. We garnered 1.5 million for the main moneybomb day and because we left the ticker up for an additional day, we garnered an additional 300k! Raising a lot of money on one day isn't the key; raising money is. We'll promote the Sept 17th moneybomb as we normally promote these events and I believe it would be great if the campaign left the ticker up even after that. However, I do agree with you though that the website shouldn't really advertise the end of quarter push; the campaign can push for that.

Also, thanks for the signature code afwjam :)

It's hard to say that Ron Paul raised an additional 300k because the ticker was left up an additional day. Previous moneybombs from Q2 showed people donating more before and after moneybomb days even when the ticker wasn't showing.

Raising money is one object, but getting the media to take him seriously is our issue. Last time the first 4 million dollar money bomb didn't do anything. The media continued to ignore us, but the second one, that one they took seriously. They really stood up and took notice.

We agree though, let the campaign worry about raising money in general. Let's us push the hell out of the September 17th date. Would you and afw change your signature to get rid of that calendar? We don't want to dilute these bombs. We need them to have a very strong impact. I know I am looking at all those dates wondering which one I should support. I am sure others are doing that too.

Nowadays, people are dead broke. They don't want to see you expecting money from them over and over. I am not saying we can't have other dates, but if we don't focus on one date at a time, we can't have the huge impact we want.

I am not looking for a 2 million dollar day. I expect we can push for a 9 million dollar day. 9 million...THAT they wouldn't be able to ignore. Even the big boys would report on that.

You are exactly right hari. Exactly.

You should be donating the money as early as possible. As in today. Right now.

The money raised from people on this board was around 1% of the total moneybomb.

While people donating to the campaign is great, and people should give what they can; but the main value members can do here is to spread the word. Not just letting other people know that there's a moneybomb, but actually getting people to vote for Ron Paul.

Perhaps I need to explain about how a money bomb works. 1st, you have a website up with a pledge counter. That gets people excited. They can see those numbers grow and grow. When the are excited they work harder to make the numbers grow bigger. They do more work when they are excited. People wrote articles, and had blogs, and sent out emails and the word got out.

As the word got out people got more excited and more excited.

Then, on THE day, we watched the ticker fly! Every hour we were posting more and more amazing totals. It was thrilling. People who hadn't planned on it, donated again and again. And so did others. And the money kept rolling in. We were cheering each other and the campaign and it was sooooooooooooo much fun!!!

Sure, the campaign needs money all the time. But we are here to promote a money bomb. We can do this people. Doesn't anyone else have any enthusiasm?

The end of quarter push is already a given, it does not matter how much money we raise on one day, it matters how much money the campaign has, especially at the end of the quarter.
This board is for promotion. We need to be promoting all of the future moneybombs so the general public can hear about them before they happen. My signature is mostly just to help guide the efforts of volunteers on this forum, the more people know the more organized and prepared we can be.

I agree with this. We could do this again, but make it even bigger.

I respectfully disagree afw. I know the impact a BIG money bomb can have. If you disagree, then you disagree. But, I am going to try to get one good money bomb going. Do whatever you want. I am tired of arguing. All I want to do is help Ron Paul get 9 million in one day. I want the media to take notice of him. I know he can't get elected if they keep calling him unelectable. I know that some people will not vote for a guy they think doesn't have a chance. I know this. I also know we need those people if he is going to get elected. So, that is my goal.

Good luck getting 9 Million in one day.

This will naturally come when Ron Paul wins some primaries.

If you want Ron Paul to win primaries, you'll need to help Get Out The Vote.

It's against the law for the campaign to coordinate with the grassroots for fundraising.

You're right, I just looked it up.

I know we thought that last campaign we had to do it ourselves. Maybe it was just because the official campaign didn't have the moneybomb idea.

As far as i know there are strong regulations on coordination but this is just the campaign setting up promotional website for a moneybomb. I don't think there is an issue.

It doesn't take luck afw, it takes hard work. And yes, I know we can do it. We have more supporters this time around and all it takes is bodies. But one money bomb getting 9 million is better than 9 money bombs getting 1 million.

Moneybomb Calendar:
Sept. 17th - Constitution Day Moneybomb - Facebook Page
Oct. 19th - Black THIS Out!! Moneybomb - Facebook page
Nov 11th - Veterans Day Moneybomb
Dec 16th - Tea Party Moneybomb
I like these dates.

I agree on the value of the impact of a money bomb, and that should be the focus for constitution day, but there still can / should be an end of quarter push that pops up after the bomb is complete. Promote the bomb, not the push. I like the idea of celebrating the bill of rights, one each, on the last 10 days of the quarter. :)
