Here's an overview of what Ron Paul candidates are up against in Maryland.
Maryland Republican Congressional Primaries - February 12, 2008
DISTRICT 1
Joe Arminio ($0 raised)
Wayne T. Gilchrest (Incumbent; $567,192 raised)
Andy Harris ($1,095,618 raised)
E. J. Pipkin ($600,556 raised)
John Leo Walter ($0 raised)
Robert Joseph Banks ($0 raised)
Looks like a hot district where Andy Harris is giving Gilchrest some strong competition. Harris has been endorsed by James Dobson. Pipkin's running as a tax cutter and has built a nice war chest. I think Arminio is going have a hard time making a dent.
DISTRICT 2
Richard Pryce Matthews ($0 raised)
So far, Matthews is running unopposed for his party, which is awesome! His competition will come in the general. But there will be time to raise money and interest by then. But he will be fighting against a Democratic incumbent, Dutch Ruppersberger ($565,048 raised). It won't be easy.
DISTRICT 3
Christopher Panasuk ($0 raised)
Paul Spause ($0 raised)
John Stafford ($0 raised)
Thomas E. Harris ($0 raised)
Four candidates running. Stafford already has a lengthy political history and has run unsuccessful campaigns for other positions in the past.
DISTRICT 4
Robert Broadus ($0 raised)
Peter James ($0 raised)
Michael Moeshe Starkman ($0 raised)
Vincent Martorano ($0 raised)
Again, another heavily Democratic district whose big competition will come in the general. Any of the 3 RP candidates can beat Martorano (it looks like), if they don't split the vote so much that Martorano wins. I know many board members are placing a preference with Peter James. One thing is certain: if James wins, he will need to update his website badly. If websites are any indicator, Starkman has the advantage.
DISTRICT 5
Collins Bailey ($0 raised)
Jesse James Dann ($0 raised)
Mike Hethmon ($0 raised)
Dann has a lengthy military history and may be the only competition for Bailey.
DISTRICT 7
Michael Hargadon ($0 raised)
Ray Bly ($0 raised)
Hopefully an easy win for Hargadon.
DISTRICT 8
Jay Roberts ($0 raised)
Steve Hudson ($17,049 raised)
Bruce Stern ($15,625 raised)
Meyer F. Marks ($0 raised)
Brian Mezger ($0 raised)
A big field of Republicans, two of which have already raised some money.

Those are just my thoughts on the challenges facing the liberty candidates running in Maryland. Amazingly, there is a Ron Paul candidate in all but one of the Congressional Districts. Help make sure they get support in their area.
What are the thoughts of those board members in Maryland?
