compliment post to poster 1836: what does Paul have to lose?

Maybe HE doesn't have anything to lose. But he would be screwing over his son.

And really...what would he gain? He is NOT going to get the nomination. Plain and simple. He knows this. He wants to be heard. And issing off the GOP, thus pretty much getting him shut out at the Convention would be the worst thing to do.

And again...seriously...while many Ron Paul supporters won't vote for the nominee (most will, by the way...come back to reality...not every one voting for Ron Paul is rabid.) well..the reverse is also true. Romney has FAR more supporters...and many of them would prefer Obama over Paul, so Obama would easily win.

They are both pollin the same against Obama...about 2 points back, but within the margin of error. If one tried to use that tactic, and the other did as well, neither one would have any chance of winning.

Thanks for the more positive responses.

Now, is there a way for my suggestion, perhaps tailored by 1836's advice, to get to the campaign? Does someone havevthe ability to contact Doug Wead or Jessie Benton? I used to have Carol Pauls personal email but don't think I have it anymore.

All this F'ing work wasn't just about winning this damned election. It was about furthering the cause of liberty. It was about getting freedom candidates elected at all levels of politics, from GOP central committees to congress.
Ron Paul was just a vehicle for so many of these political upstarts to hitch their star to. And now, after a demoralizing day like yesterday, he can't even be bothered to make a 10 min tube re-energizing the troops... refocusing them on the big picture... or even just giving us some official feedback on yesterday's results and where the campaign is headed now? WTF? At least Jack Hunter tried to jump in.
We're hemmoraging support here, and the good doctor really needs to tie on a turniquet before we bleed out. California's not 'til June. We've got a lot of work to do, but won't get anywhere if the soldiers walk off the field before the battle has even begun.

Who cares about Rand Pauls chances in 2016?????
People with a long-term perspective and plan. I do.

Not to say that jwhitmore is necessarily correct. But people who think only as far as the next paycheck do not get rich. Movements which only think as far as the next election do not change history. High time-preference kills. Low time-preference is the key to progress, the good life, and to everything. Broaden your perspective. Lengthen your time horizon.

'And again...seriously...while many Ron Paul supporters won't vote for the nominee (most will, by the way...come back to reality...not every one voting for Ron Paul is rabid.)"

I'm not rabid. I have voted exclusively republican since 1980.

I will however not do so again, I have been slapped in the face nonstop since Reagan. I know most here think Reagan was schit, but he at least had sympathies towards libertarianism.

I agree with the OP, and this article: http://voices.yahoo.com/open-letter-ron-paul-10995332.html?cat=9 I think written by someone on this forum.

America wants Ron Paul, they just don't know it yet. Ron needs to show some fire and act like he's the man for the job. The campaign needs to do something to shake things up and wake people up. I really don't mean to be critical, but it just seems the campaign is so passive about everything. Show some more fire, it's ok for people to see the passion behind this! They need to see it! More moments like Ron's last debate where he was assertive and passionate.

There was a point early in this race, several points, where you could actually feel the political winds shifting. Who knew we'd come this far. We just need to carry it over the top and PUSH.

We spend so much time explaining away the narrative created for us by the media rather than creating the narrative ourselves. Let's give them something to talk about.
