Comment squad needed for Bentivolio and Amash to counter slams under articles and Facebook

Here's an article that doesn't look like it uses Facebook. This article definitely needs good comments, although it's already about a week old. I'm also not sure if commenting is a good idea if it just increases its Google ranking.

I was thinking about google rankings. I hadn't googled Kerry yet, I had googled Amash earlier today. I hit some of the stories that came up on top, but I didn't want to raise up other stories you had to wade lower down for.

I actually use Startpage and then do an advanced search to get only the articles from the past week. Startpage is supposed to be more privacy oriented but it says it is "enhanced by Google" so I'm assuming what's highly ranked on Startpage is probably highly ranked on Google. I'm not sure about that though.

Also, filtering to get only the past week's worth of articles might bring to the top articles that would be lower ranked on a straight Google search.

I search twice, once by news, with google's rankings, and once by date. I guess a week would be yet a different ranking. I didn't try that one.

Maybe we should comment on bad ones and link to good ones to drive the good ones up in google?

What do you think?

edit, amusingly these are the top two for Amash:

Sounds good to me but I'm not an expert on Internet rankings by any means. About the polls, this isn't the only race that they seem to be all over the place on. I'm beginning to wonder if they are all that reliable anymore, I guess because of cell phones and caller id.

Here's another article about Kerry from today's Oakland Press that you don't need Facebook to comment on:

My comment on Kerry:

The author forgot to include the "the political ad was paid for by the DNC" disclaimer. Really, an article about a political candidate that LEADS with talking about bankruptcy, says nothing about how successful his business was before going belly up, says NOTHING about his political views, doesn't even mention who he's running against, and tries to make an issue over the fact that military and school records are not public is supposed to be objective?

That said, who even reads this rag? And do we sometimes shoot ourselves in the foot by doing this and thus raising the profile of the bad articles?

Comment on the Detroit news article:

Decent article. Kerry is the kind of person we need in congress right now. Our biggest problems are government debt, a poor economy and these needless wars. As an Iraq veteran Kerry understands the needless death and destruction that elective wars cause. He knows we need to cut government spending, not expand it. We cannot afford the "affordable care act". Healthcare costs will go down only if we reduce the government footprint on healthcare, not expand it. And Kerry runs his own business, so he's familiar with the challenges small business people face. I hope the author is wrong in saying that the RNC will primary Kerry in 2014 if (when) he wins this time. If so the RNC establishment will only be putting a nail in its own coffin.

Now ^that's how it's done! Comment on the good articles and blog good articles yourself! It's time we really own the internet by putting out and pushing up our own content!

Requires Facebook, but it needs comments.
