Well , that looks a bit optimistic for USC , Fla St , LSU , FL and Tenn . If I recall , about those exact same teams started out last year over ranked as well .

Michigan versus Florida, first week. Playing in Texas.

It is the season of opportunity for the Hoosiers . Nine returning starters on defense including FBS leader in tackles for loss ( Scales , LB ) , most career passes defended by FBS active player ( Fant , CB ) . Returning QB ( Lagow ) , returning 3 of five offensive line starters. Chance to reach three consecutive bowl games which would equal the school record , chance to sweep Purdue & Michigan State in consecutive seasons which has not been done prior ,retaining the Old Oaken Bucket and the Old Brass Spittoon ,chance to defeat Purdue five consecutive times to break a record that has stood since 1947 . Returning top receiver from '15 and returning top receiver from '16 , an offense averaging 31 1/2 points a game the previous five seasons . Time will tell in a very tough schedule, in the first 9 games they play every team that has won or shared a Big 10 Title since 2005 , four are currently in the top 10. Probably the only glaring weakness is qb depth as fifth year Senior Diamont , backup QB who was proven as a capable pinch starter chose not to play this year and concentrate on other things as he is too small to play football at any other level .

I kind of think we could have beaten Iowa and Minnesota this season but they are not on our schedule .

Looks like there are now 10 Florida players suspended for Michigan game . Baylor two starters suspended for opener.

Hoosiers leading 7 - 3 over Ohio State . Both teams have had the ball once and made long drives . Hoosiers 11 plays , 87 yard drive .

Buckeyes stay in the game early . IU QB Lagow from the Ohio St 14 leading 7 - 3 throws a pick at the goal line returned for 40 yards , OSU gets 35 yard run , kicks FG down 6 - 7 . Ten minutes to Half . Hoosiers take kickoff and drive for touchdown , up 14 -6 with 8 minutes to Half , ten plays , 80 yards , two minutes . This game could have easily been 21 - 3.
