CNN Reports: Ron Paul To Take Weekend Off From Campaigning In Iowa Heading Back To Texas

I look at it as a day off. It's the friggin' holiday season. Let the man rest; he's not 22 on pcp. This will be his last normal new years eve of his life. The next 8 will be held in the dang white house!

Saw him last night

I saw Congressman Paul last night in Council Bluff, IA. He is doing between 4-5 town halls, a few radio shows, and a few tv shows a day plus staying around for an hour or two to visit with people and sign autographs. Don't forget the hour drive between those 4 or 5 towns in Iowa. A day off before the new year is just what he needs to recharge. He did have some of his family at the town hall last night.

He signed my copy of Liberty Defined and I got to ask him how he stays so informed, plus how many books does he read in a year. He said in 2012 he will read about 12 books because he is working hard to be the president, but in a non campaign year he reads much more than that.

Dr Paul is going home because having him in Iowa would be a major distraction to the ground crew who would otherwise be out knocking on doors.

BTW Why is this topic not in media spin?

rand paul is going to be campaigning with his father.
this alone has created some headlines in the press!!!

It's new years. Politics shouldn't get in the way of spending that time with whom you want and where you want to. What's the point of trying to improve the country if you aren't going to have a life? Good for Paul taking a rest. He isn't a sacrificial animal for the benefit of the rest of us.

Couldn't agree more.

Reporting that he is leaving Iowa for the weekend is not negative spin. What a ridiculous statement.

When I first heard about this my thought was "a move of confidence by the campaign".

A losing campaign would be on the trail shaking hands with whoever they could. It gives Ron the appearance of the leader. What does it look like if everyone is campaigning but Ron on Sunday? I would assume that means Ron is comfortable with where he is and the other candidates aren't. This point was only validated by Romney following suit (campaigning Sunday is now a sign of weakness).

Good for Ron Paul, he has a long road ahead and deserves a rest with family. People are not going to be thinking about politics this weekend anyway, they are going to be spending time with friends and family, which I am glad to see Ron Paul will be doing as well. Besides, Ron Paul, like anyone does better with some rest.
