If you're up and you want to see it, CNN is covering the lauch of Endeavor right now.

T minus 5 minutes or so....

only 30 night time launches ever.

dude on msnbc said said as far away as atlanta. im in the tampa bay area and I couldnt see jack-squat.

I remember watching challenger when I was in the 1st grade... its always a 'hold-your-breath' moment.

very pretty though. ultimately inspiring.

Big Science

Some big science is very cool. National R+D is important - provided it's spent wisely.

I wish they would telecast "the real" spaceships being launched...

Where can you actually buy the tickets? I know they're a bazillion dollars, but where are they actually selling them?

'
I know that Virgin Galactic is starting to sell tickets to raise money for their 2 day orbit trip.

You mean from Area 51?

Riiiiiiight..
:D

Well, that would really be awesome. :D

But I was alluding moreso to secret spacecraft we've developed, which are radically more advanced than the public space shuttle.

And before you say "Nah, that's nonsense!" just think how long the shuttle's been around and how far technologies advanced since then.

Subsequently, I think we have secret spacecraft, which are about as close, in terms of technology to the public shuttle, as the Wright Brothers first biplane is to an F-18 Raptor.

Yeah - it is one area I don't completely agree w/ Dr. Paul on, but he's right - it's not in the Constitution (unless it's for the DoD). Still, I like Scientific R&D - especially NASA!
