CNN cost us Iowa

Exactly. What happened to all of the Iran coverage? Weren't they going to close the Straight of Hormuz and attack our aircraft carrier?
The clip someone posted showing Bachmann stepping-out had John Bolton on there spouting the worst kind of war-propanganda, so it hasn't stopped.

Blame the campaign for that. The Gloria Borger interview was clearly a hit piece, BUT RP should not have walked out like he did. The fact he wasn't prepared in a better way, and the FACT they still have not held a press conference on the issue is really beyond me. Herman Cain was out in FULL defense over his supposedly false "accusations", but the RP campaign basically allowed him to be slandered for 2 full weeks with very little defense...and the difference is the RP campaign SHOULD HAVE KNOWN it would/could be an issue...heck I emailed an adviser BEFORE the Gloria Borger interview, on December 13, letting him know RP better be prepared for ANYTHING in regards to the newsletters issue.

GTFO!

He didn't walk out! Now please GTFO

Those fuckers edited that interview to make it look like Ron walked off. He did no such thing.

CNN did this deliberately, I'm sure they are all very proud of themselves right now.

Oh believe me, the coffee gamer knows that. Nothing but a troll.

A got a speeding ticket today.

That damn cop shouldn't have been hiding in the woods.

Maybe, Dr Paul shouldn't have had his name applied to questionable newsletters.

I can't change the fact I was speeding and Dr Paul can't take the newsletters back.

You can't blame CNN for latching onto low hanging fruit.

Nothing questionable about them. They were taken out of context and he didn't write them. It is nothing but a smear job.

Oh, and he shouldn't apologize about the newsletters, they are very good. The media can go to hell for taking them out of context.

I watched CNN at the airport on the morning of the caucus, and all morning long they completely ignored or marginalized Paul. They were showing coverage of every single candidate multiple times in the short 1.5 hours or so that I watched it. It was apparent to me, the concerted effort to marginalize Paul was in high gear, as it always has been since 2008

and lies about Ron Paul's position on Marriage & Abortion had all the church going sheep voting in lock step with Santorum based on LIES

What's the point of blaming the media? We have to focus on getting ahead.

I watched CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News and it seems to me that MSNBC hurt Ron Paul the most....

But we have to focus on getting all the voters to come out...I'm pretty sure we could have gotten more than 26,219 in Iowa to come out and vote for Ron Paul...

How exactly do people think the media is spun? Like in an every day office environment... I can't imagine that an editor says to some writer, "No, no we can't run this, we need to make sure Ron Paul looks bad. My overlords told me so."

I think media spin is obviously happening, especially with FOX news, they will leave Ron Paul's name out of graphics whenever possible. I am just curious about how it happens. Does anyone know any reporters who have come out and spoken about this?

Iowa was hardly lost . . .

and actually a big win in Van Buren County 39% Ron Paul to 18.9% Mittens . . . etc.

Plenty of delegates on the (long) road to Tampa Bay already folks . . .

The campaign should have released the newsletters themselves the day after Ron announced his campaign and put it all out there with an explanation.

Water under the bridge at this point though...

Watch the documentary "Outfoxed".

Please, it's not just CNN, it's CNN, its FOX it's 50,000 jerk offs in iowa who voted for more war.

All that tells me (and you, if you thought about it) is that MSNBC focused on your demographic. Other media outlets focused on other demographics. All worked in unison to thwart Ron Paul.

I thought I posted this earlier in this thread, but somehow it was removed.

Please watch this video so you can understand how the establishment media works.

Nothing so blatant. Assign journalists that have a history of covering things fairly to covering other issues that week. Give them vacation time. Give air time to those you know will espouse views you want out there. Provide suggested questions to interviewers. Edit adjectives and adverbs in and out of stories ('He spoke to a enthused crowd', to 'He spoke to a young crowd'). Put up eloquent people to speak for certain things, and put up scruffy people to speak opposed views. Request certain clips go into rotation. Remove other clips from rotation.

And most importantly? Define the range of discussion. That is, imagine any 'debate' between two people. One represents the 'left', one represents the 'right'. Now imagine, you pick each of those people. So now you can have the person on the left (or right) actually argue a moderate position, and completely misrepresent one entire side of the argument, just cutting it entirely from discourse. So, for example, rather than have one person argue for war with Iran, and another argue for avoiding war, you instead have one person arguing for bombing Iran preemptively to 'prevent war' and another arguing for 'sanctions' to 'prevent war'. You completely remove opposed options from discourse, yet provide the illusion of discussion and reason - at the same time advocating two acts of war as the way to 'avoid war'. It's easy enough to find people like that, especially since you give them a chance to be an 'expert' on television. And since you get to chose the people, YOU define the discussion.

Spin is an art form. People study it. People perfect it. When you control a medium with limited output (such as television with limited channels) you can drastically alter the overall message very, very easily.

And that's only the tip of the iceberg. Call civilian casualties 'collateral damage'. Don't report friendly deaths, friendly fire, or the use of mercenaries. Slightly mis-translate anyone speaking in a foreign tongue. Report crime. Don't report community activism. Spin. Spin. Spin.

Plain and simple.

From the Gloria Borger interview to their inaccurate poll (no independents/dems, which made up 26% tonight) CNN had the fix in. They inflated Santorum big time and smeared Ron Paul 24/7. I will never forgive CNN for this.

Yeah this video of Dana Bash spilling the beans is proof enough for me that the propaganda arm of the war machine is desperate to keep the status quo. Since when does a correspondent express "worry" over a candidate's possible nomination?

the cool thing about the documentary 'Spin' is the satellite video feed that wasn't broadcast on air to show how they plan execute spin.
