CNBC GOP Debate on Oct 28th - Who will qualify?

Well its only a good month before the next debate, so I'd like to discuss here who will qualify.

Problem is, I made some internet research and it seems there are no qualifying rules stated yet, at least not in public. The only thing I did find out, is that the Sean Spicer, the RNC’s communications director and chief strategist, said in an CNN interview, that he doubts that an undercard debate will take place once more. And that CNBC and the RNC still have to come to terms regarding the qualifying procedure. However, this interview is almost a week old and there seems to be no further info out there so far. I was suspecting they would be losing the undercard tier of candidates.

An economy themed debate should have some fiscal conservatives on stage, shouldn't it ?

The Dali Lama Buddhist guy and peaceniks will be in Boulder one week before the GOP debate -
local authorities/organizers are expecting 30-40 media trucks that week before the debate.

Audience inside is limited to party elite - only a token of 50 seats in the 11,000 seat campus stadium will go to select students.
Great place to put about 100,000 people outside the stadium noisier than the neocons on stage . . . or at least code pink supporters booing the Carly military machine.

The Oct. 28 event in Boulder, titled "Your Money, Your Vote" and televised by CNBC, will be held in the 11,000-seat Coors Events Center on the University of Colorado campus, but the audience will be capped at about 1,000, and nearly all those chairs are already spoken for.

"One of the things people need to keep in mind," Sean Spicer, the Republican National Committee's chief spokesman, said Friday, "is that this is a television production more than anything else. It's a major, major event, but it's mostly focused on being seen by the tens of millions of people who are watching."

Inviting a vastly under-capacity crowd is standard practice for such events; only about 4,500 people sat in the audience at Cleveland's 21,000 seat Quicken Loans Arena for the GOP's first presidential debate in August, and Spicer said this week's debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library sat about 300.

Though CU is hosting the event, the school will only squeak in a few dozen of its own.

"We'll have a small representation of students and administrators and faculty," campus spokesman Bronson Hilliard.

"The contract calls for us to get 50 tickets. I believe we've asked for some more, and we're still talking to the RNC about what might be available there, but there are definitely a lot of people here that the RNC has to satisfy, and we totally understand that."

Even Bruce Benson, the university's president, wasn't able to score more than a ticket for himself and a plus-one.

CU's Vice President for Communication, Ken McConnellogue, said, "We're by no means getting any special attention."

Local Republicans won't get preference, either. The GOP headquarters in both Broomfield and Boulder counties have been guaranteed zero seats.

"I think they're already sold out to RNC donors, and local people won't get any," said Ellyn Hilliard, chair of the Boulder County Republicans. "I don't even get any. It's an extremely limited, culled crowd. They culled it down to the people they wanted."

im kinda nervous about this next one. something tells me they will make rules to exclude rand no matter how he is doing.
 
Is there a Students for Rand chapter at the Boulder campus?

That's a very big school.

Even if they weren't in the audience, there could be a show of force outside which hopefully would get some media exposure.

Like Rubio's bill to increase military expenditures without offsetting cuts elsewhere to pay for it? Which Cruz chose to vote for instead of Rand's competing proposal (which specified cuts to pay for increased military spending). Cruz's excuse was phrased in Democratese, (paraphrasing) Rand's cuts would have "Hurt the middle class"
 
I've read several articles that say everyone was going to be on stage, and that were hoping that there were going to be additional drop outs so it isn't crowded.

Yeah but not enough to sway an election, the trick is to target poor people indirectly by making them think they are voting for their own interests by demonizing people that they perceive as lower class than them, people really love to hate.

Watch out for Jindal to take Rand's spot on the stage. You heard it here first. They will push him like they did Carly to bump out Rand.
