As he drives me back to my hotel, he expresses an affinity for another former mayor: “The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there.”
I doubt "in there" is White House.

Maybe read Bloomberg's full remarks- this was taken out of context by Trump/Bernie supporters to blast Bloomberg. And, NO, I am not a Bloomberg supporter. I just question everything.
Bloomberg, Nov. 17, 2016: If you think about it, the agrarian society lasted 3,000 years, and we can teach processes. I can teach anybody – even people in this room, so no offense intended – to be a farmer. It’s a process. You dig a hole, you put a seed in, you put dirt on top, you add water, up comes corn. You can learn that. Then you had 300 years of the industrial society. You put the piece of metal on the lathe, you turn the crank in direction of arrow and you can have a job. And we created a lot of jobs. At one point, 98% of the world worked in agriculture. Today it’s 2% of the United States.
Now comes the information economy and the information economy is fundamentally different because it’s built around replacing people with technology, and the skill sets that you have to learn are how to think and analyze. And that is a whole degree level different. You have to have a different skill set. You have to have a lot more gray matter. It’s not clear the teachers can teach or the students can learn. And so the challenge of society is to find jobs for these people. …
Nothing like Trump. Donald Trump has a personality, compassion and a love for his country. Bloomberg loves himself, definitely loves the fact that he has made astronomical money off China and he loves to dictate to people. He is all for imposing taxes on people for climate change, he thinks guns should be taken away and he thinks most Americans are fat/unhealthy and should be taxed for being fat/unhealthy. He is an advocate of late term abortions and he is also for no medical treatment for people over a certain age.
Again do your due diligence and check it out for yourself.
AGAIN: I am NOT a supporter of Bloomberg. That said. Trump has also made mucho bucks off China, supports "take the guns first" and is dealing with Israel to further imprison the Palestinians & start a full-fledged war on Iran.
In my opinion they are both POS.
Didn't say you were a supporter of Bloomberg but you made this comment: "My POV is that Eastwood sees little difference in the two but Bloomberg is known to be more genteel and not publicly insulting to anyone who disagrees with him, so he's not as big an embarrassment as Trump can be." While saying that I tried to point out where you knowing what Clint Eastwood is thinking is wrong.
Besides I do not like to gage my POV on what any celebrity thinks or says.
I got a good read on Bloomberg when I had an intimate dinner with him some years ago. Rather than the stiff, unsmiling man we saw on TV in Las Vegas, in real life Bloomberg is clearly brilliant yet understated, charming, and endowed with a sharp sense of humor and quick wit.

So, in other words, just like Trump.![]()
IIRC, Bloomberg did an interview that was essentially excusing and possibly admiring the Chinese way of governing. Not what you want to hear from a POTUS candidate. He wants to be Big Brother.
Probably another billionaire that wants to emulate the Chinese model:
China is the Model for US Billionaires, Crony Corporatists and Authoritarian Kleptocrats
something doesn't add up. I think Clint means Bloomberg would be easiest to beat, not that he supports his policies.
