I'm still waiting to hear back from the band about the release date!

Done. If you speak to them if you could ask them to edit out the 'black this out' tag at the end of the video and replace it with TeaParty11.com that would be great.

America is can be worse than a fickle kid with ADHD at times, trust me I've got it and I've turned out fine (well I think so anyway :D). I would describe it more as a paranoid schizophreniac who starts shooting randomly at the drop of a pen.
 
In 2009 I was involved in the promotion of the RATM tune. The promotion was via facebook and the traditional media (radio DJ and newspaper articles), partly because it was up against X-Factor that has a high degree of dislike and coverage, i.e the radio could run stories such as "Who can beat the X-Factor to number 1".

The facebook side centered around a group that still exists https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2228594104, it had 750,000 by December 15th (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_in_the_name_of#2009_Christmas_Number_One_campaign)

There was also a page https://www.facebook.com/ratm4xmas but that was much less important.
Both pages still exists and the information is quite useful, the admins of the group was very clever and kept it updated and did many bit.ly type links that could both monitor clicks and used in places like twitter.
I don't want to put a downer on this but if this is to work there will have to be a great deal more co-operation from the Ron Paul facebook groups admins then are currently shown for the moneybombs, plus discussion to get the group spreading via facebook. bit.ly links or similar want to be setup that visit the video, the group and later can switch to a download destination. Certain people want to be availlable for media interviews, including the band and getting media interviews wants to be part of the promotion process.

By December 10, national media coverage http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2009/dec/11/rage-against-machine-christmas-no1

Can we identify who the group admin is for this event and get things organised.

A video going viral relies greatly on the view count, as it's then seen more popular and things like youtube and google recommend it more.

Splitting the views between two videos really hinders this.

The first upload needs to be removed RIGHT AWAY. Damage limitation, if views are diluted between the two there is absolutely NO CHANCE of the video going viral. You need to do this AS A MATTER OF PRIORITY to prevent people linking to the first upload which will lead to broken links when it is removed.

I sent them an email last night asking if they could add the teaparty11.com moneybomb at the end with the release date. I think they could unlisting the video and adding a caption to it, would be better then total removal. Do you think a NEW version of the video with the release date and info about geting to number 1 at the start, could go viral faster then the other 2? As long as the other 2 are unlisted or removed.

I don't use facebook, sorry! I signed up to tweet for Ron, but.....

I have been tweeting this, though, and when we have more particulars we can set up a twitter bomb on it.

Will you guys add a TeaParty11.com promotion to your videos? A text bubble for the duration of the video and a visible link in the description would be great.

I'm looking at the band itself.

I'd agree they are legit. They've played Viper Room a few times. I saw SXSW there as well.

The song is the type of thing we want.

However, I just don't see this as being something that we should wait until Christmas for.

A week of hype or less would be all that's necessary to get it on the itunes charts. Someone will buy 10K downloads themself. Or something like that.

Then, after it gets on the itunes charts, that's when people take screen caps of it on the charts and get so excited about it, etc, etc.
