"Christians Who Support Donald Trump are Voting for Tyranny," Says Blogger Matt Walsh

"Tony Perkins wrote that out for me -- he actually wrote out 2, he wrote out the number 2 Corinthians," Trump said. "I took exactly what Tony said, and I said, 'Well Tony has to know better than anybody.' "

HOLY SHIT.
Doubling down on his ignorance.

That's not what he's saying. It's not a powerful message. The video isn't effective. You are just a mindless shill.
.

The way he delivers it is powerful.

And know, that understanding your enemy is not the same as endorsing them.

There has been a huge bottling up of tension created by the P.C. police in this nation, and Trump is capitalizing on it. It's nothing more. It's nothing less. You'll get no argument from me about his sincerity in his beliefs (or lack thereof). But you cannot deny that he has been effective in realizing what people have pent up inside of them and zeroing in on it.

Step One is identifying the problem, which is that Trump is "misdirecting" peoples' anger, not merely capitalizing on it.

Step Two is not becoming part of the problem, namely becoming overly impressed with something that's been around since Ancient Greece (sophistry) and has been the trademark methodology of aspiring dictators throughout history.

Step Three, should anyone get that far, is making an effort to undercut the efforts of the mob mentality enablers so that we don't wrongfully execute Socrates.

Sadly, a lot of people on this forum are struggling with Step One, and some aren't even trying to to begin the process towards understanding Step One.

Trump is the GOP's "Trojan Horse"

I totally agree with this. Trump isn't winning because he has the greatest platform. He is winning because people are identifying with this message. Trump is a perfect example why candidates should not give one rip about what the media msm establishment thinks about them. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Present values that get the base excited and don't be ashamed about it. If the media gets upset with you, tell them to go jump off a cliff. If only Rand didn't have advisers telling him to be polite and soft with his message. As a logical and reasonable individual, I found Rand to be completely underwhelming. I almost wish Ron's 2008 run could have been transplanted into 2016. Ron was an exciting and principled candidate to vote for. Rand, not so much. Of course Rand is the best in the field based on ideas, unfortunately, platforms DO NOT win campaigns.

I have to disagree with that. Though it is true that Dr. Ron Paul was speaking his mind and saying things that were unpopular to the Republican establishment and mainstream voters in 2007 and 2011, he was still largely ignored by the mainstream media, unlike Donald Trump is this election cycle. It was Dr. Paul's message that was offensive and a stumblingblock to the GOP, the Media, and typical Republican voters, even when Dr. Paul was saying all of the things that apathetic citizens were agreeing with.

But in the end, though most people loved his being an outsider (like Trump is being portrayed now), those same people didn't "think that Ron Paul could win" because the mainstream media used polling and blackouts to inform voters that he couldn't win. The difference is that Donald Trump has the Media on his side because of his platform (which is textbook Neoconservativism) and his business acumen, not necessarily because of his attitude as being an outsider.

Sen. Paul has the unfortunate luxury of being a consistent and principled candidate like his father, but possessing a message that has become "holy water to vampires" in the Republican Party and their victims within the mainstream media outlets.

Yup, it's all a result of media coverage. The media buried any news about Ron and they are doing the same to Rand. NOTHING will turn this around except a big win in Iowa and and good finish in N.H...

Who did Matt Walsh support? In my humble opinion, there were only two viable, unique candidates running this cycle on the Republican side. Trump and Rand Paul.
